By now it is common knowledge (at least on fan sites such as this) that there has been a major shift in the power structure and direction of DC Direct.
Output seems to have decreased recently, more in terms of quantity than quality, which isn't necessarily a bad thing (I know my wallet appreciates it).
We seem to be in a transitionary period as collectors though. Some of what is coming out is clearly the remains of the efforts of Georg Brewer and Co. while there doesn't seem to be anything of particular note that can be attributed to the "new team".
Again, not necessarily a bad thing as it could make for a very seamless and invisible turnover on the collector side of things.
However, I'm going to miss the interviews and commentary from the old regime. I believe Julius stated a bit back that the new team doesn't seem to be as interested in following through or setting up interviews (perhaps it was at toy fair) which is a shame.
So, does anyone know who the people in charge are now? What is their agenda? What are they hoping to do with DC Direct as a label?
I'd love to see someone start sharing some concrete info on the future of DC Direct, especially with SDCC looming closer on the horizon (psst ... SDMike... shouldn't we have a countdown thread starting soon? .... hint, hint ...)
What do you all think? Does anyone even care at this point?

Some of the old guard is still there, which may help in the 'transition'.
I believe Jim Fletcher, who I met at NYCC in 2009, is still there. Even then, I tried to set up an interview and was directed to someone else who never got back to me.
In terms of differences in operation, the only thing I've noticed is that they no longer solicit the toys with the comics. With Flash Point wave 1, that made sense due to the storyline, but we know there will be 2 new waves of Green Lantern based on what was shown at NYTF. Those need to be solicited before we worry about a lack of product. I expect to see a wave of those 'revealed' on DC's The Source blog soon.
And SDCC is not really that far away. They have to save up a surprise or two for that.

Personally, (and this should come as a shock to no one) given the news coming out of DC today, I think this would be a perfect time for DCD to launch a 4" line based upon the new, soon to debut DCU.

I think the real question is, "which characters need a figure most that are being relaunched with this event?"
I am sure DC Direct will start with the new Justice League. The main characters always sell well. Not to me who already has enough Superman and Batman, but to people who can never get enough of those characters.
What I am most excited for the possibility of is a new or renewed line based on the Justice League International. Many of the main cast has been covered by the JLI line DC Direct already made, but we still need Rocket Red and this could be a way to get a figure of RR produced.

Wow ...
each month there seems to be less and less being offered and almost all of it is resolicitations with price increases.
I'd really like to be here when the dust settles and DC Direct starts churning out new product, but at this point I'm not sure DC Direct will be here when the dust settles.

I get the sense that DCD is dying a long slow death with less and less solicited each month, with the resolicits and with nothing new showing up in Previews etc. Also SSC getting a DC license points to DCD not doing serious statues and the like leaving that to SSC.
I can't say I'm too distressed by this since I'm not a big fan of the look of the nuDCU and SSC seems to be going the classic DC route.
But I could be wrong.

I think this lull we are seeing new product is result of the transition in leadership from awhile back. I'm thinking it will pick up again and be very "new 52" heavy.

Well, we know that the Spy v Spy kits are coming soon and the first wave of Alfred E. Neuman's Just-Us League has already been solicited.
The "New" DC Direct might not be so super-hero heavy in focus as it rolls forward and may re-orient itself back towards its collector origins now that DCUC and its successor DCU All Stars seem to be so successful and widespread...
Just a thought mind you, no hard evidence or insider info to back it up ...

That would be great news if true.I want to see this over the recent storyline/artist created figures.DCD figures are infinitely better than Mattel imo.Not a fan of articulation at all.
