I know the mods will probably move this thread...but it directly pertains to the DC Animated Universe that Mattel abandoned.

DC Collectibles announces new animated figures!

http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=10&itemid=21906

Looks like we are getting 6 inch TNBA Batman, Animated Series Catwoman, Batman and Robin from Son of Batman. Bye bye Mattel boards. :D

If DCC can make these, can they make the smaller JLU figures as well? Wouldn't that be insanely fantastic?

It's not like DCC is bringing back JLU... 6"-ish scale, fully articulated, debuting with three differing styles in the first assortment and there will be no way in hell that DCC will ever match the breadth of characters that Mattel did with this sub-line (DCC never keeps a line going that long). And for all the griping over the prices of the final three packs from Mattel we're looking at roughly $25 per figure here.

Very true, but there is still a lot to be excited for. In the last couple of years, Mattel has largely ignored the DC Animated Universe. I'm just relieved that the guys at DC finally decided to take the matters into their own hands and make some damn figures -- and pretty sharp ones at that. I mean, DC is cranking out animated movie after movie, why not capitalize on that if Mattel won't?

And if these figures sell well, who knows? Funko is making an awesome 3.75" line of retro-figures, Mattel has the smaller multiverse figure line...2015 would be a good time as any for DCC to reactivate the smaller JLU / animated style figures. We all know that Mattel won't do it. Possibly in the multiverse line, but doubtful.

ANY Timm-verse figures coming out is cause for celebration, in my opinion.

I'd love it if they ventured out beyond BTAS and TNAB into JL and JLU. I'd love 6" figures of all those characters.
Imagine, a 6" Amanda Waller figure!

Seriously, I'd love a 6" Waller figure

I think these will sell insanely well worldwide BTAS,STAS,BB,JL and JLU are in regular rotation on tv. I would not mind if at first they stuck to BTAS/ TNBA I will buy everyone of these this is a lot more of a value at $25 then the final JLU 3 packs which at $30 I want 3 new figures per pack. The top of my list is TNBA Ventriloquist! I think Joker and Harley are sure bets if the line does well.

This makes me WAY happier than it probably should lol..

Both the figures look great, and I really hope they continue in that theme. I'd love to get even just some of the main characters. Robin, Joker and Batgirl would be great!

Aw, man! I was so excited at first, thinking they were JLU scale. 6 inch? Pass.

DCAU not just lives on it will THRIVE at the hands of a able company ! First wave is Batman Catwoman Two Face and MR Freeze ! I just hope they stick to characters from the shows and they will do fine. Sorry but I look at my JLU collection and it angers me we got Omac but no Luminus, we go 3 Super Friends but no Mad Hatter etc. There is a TON of demand for BTAS, BB, JLU and STAS figures the show is still aired all around the world. I honestly thought there was nothing coming for me in 2014 but these may be the first item I ever pre order or buy online !

It actually appears to be two new lines. the DCC website has this listing

NEW LINE -- Batman: The Animated Series action figure: Catwoman
NEW LINE -- The New Batman Adventures action figures: Batman, Two Face, Mr. Freeze

Assuming I can afford it, I'll definitely be all in. It'll be a nice little companion to my JLU collection.

Yeah, any figures done in the TNBA style, I'm all over it. The only question for me is: Where am I gonna display them? I got no room!!
