Just a thought - could DC hire the Four Horsemen to sculpt and fill much-needed gaps in DCUC scale? Discuss.

I suppose they could, but they probably won't.
Doesn't DCD have its own in house team for the toys?
We need one of our industry insiders to chime in here.

I've no idea what numbers Club Infinite Earths had that was 63% of where they needed to be, but I just think that DCC would be deliriously happy with that many 'guaranteed' sales. Unfortunately, they seem to be in the nothing but New 52 business these days. Shame.

Yeah, that's the other problem. The mandate is New 52 currently, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. I looked at the Previews Top 100 yesterday, and DC is making a much better showing against Marvel than it used to.

What would be great is if DCC could work out some sort of deal with Mattel like Disney would do with Hasbro for park-based Star Wars toys. For those that don't know, Disney offers up a lot of park-specific Star Wars toys and when they need a movie-based figure for a set that Hasbro has already done or can be kit-bashed from Hasbro parts they lease the molds from Hasbro and do their own production runs. If DCC could lease the DCUC molds from Mattel then hire the Horsemen to sculpt the new parts and use the same factories that Mattel used I could see something really great happening. Thing is, though, would there be enough business from the comic shops and online stores to support something of the like? Especially without it costing crazy money like those giant $75 figures DCC has been offering lately. Or... would DCC even be interested in continuing a line that is only going to get more and more obscure without relying on Batman and Superman repaints?

I think the New 52 figures have been pretty damn good. Not a shame at all.

DCC do not have an in-house sculpting team. The use a wide group of freelancers like Jean St. Jean, Ray Vilafane, Jim Shoop, Phil Ramirez, Dave Cortez, Johnathan and Jack Matthews, etc to sculpt their figures. I don't think they are gonna make a switch any time soon.

"could they"? Yes.
"will they"? No. Not very likely to happen any time soon.

Should DCC hire them? The sculpts on DCC figures are just fine, and in my opinion almost always better than the Mattel ones. It's the articulation that DCC has trouble with, but that seems to be resolving as well.

I'm definitely a fan of the Horsemen, but they could never figure out how to properly sculpt Batman's utility belt. They seemed to shine more on the MOTU stuff.

I think Mattel gave them more limitations for DCUC. They seemed to be able to make a lot more sculpted pieces for MOTUC.

I enjoy their work and would love to see them continue an official followup to DCUC.

The Four Horsemen have a very strong partnership with Mattel. If the two companies ever parted ways, it would be so the Horsemen could work on their own toy lines, not work for someone else.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind it a bit if DCC pulled their scale to match their original 6.5 instead of soldiering on towards Marvel Select's 7". But I wouldn't want them to hire the Horsemen. No disrespect, but in terms of sculpt, their Huntress and Ra's Al Ghul were huge let downs. So much so, that a lot of people decided to go "hunting" for the 12 year old Hush versions of those two characters.
