I was wondering if the DCSH Clayface was inspired just by BTAS or did he look like that in the comics at some point? If so could someone post a pick?

Honestly, I think the Horsemen pull from a lot of influences with the design of the figures and Timm-verse, especially with the Bat-villains is certainly influential. Clayface for sure, but I always thought a realistic version of the Timm style would make for the best Clayface. Scarecrow borrows heavily too, if you look at him, as does Killer Croc if you don't count the color.
It is hard to say where influences come from one material and sources alway borrow off of each other. There are lots of comic instances that you could say influenced Clayface but if you see a little Timm influence in him, you are not the only one. The eyes and the mouth seal it for me.

He's been shown in the comics looking more and more like his animated counterpart. Even his last Heroclix figure had this look...

Many of the figures Mattel has done so far have not looked like that in the comics. Mr. Freeze for example.

The classic Matt Hagen Clayface (who died in Crisis #12, by the way, in the same panel as the Bug-Eyed Bandit) was never that bulky. Moreover, he really didn't even appear that much. Clayface is one of many characters (including Batman himself) that took on an appearance more in keeping with his animated counterpart. Just goes to show how influential BTAS was/is.

Matt Hagen (Clayface II) is still dead.
This clayface is actually the "Ultimate Clayface" - Basil Karlo (Clayface one) - after he injected himself with a serum created from all the other clayfaces. He was originally a swirly mass of mud (as seen in the "Mud Pack" storyline) but over the years has morphed into the BTAS version of the character due to the popularity of the show.
Ultimate Clayface has popped up in Batman a couple of time (mainly during the "No Man's Land" event) and has appeared several times in Wonder Woman's comic and the Villian's Incorporated mini-series.

Really? I didn't realize that the current Clayface was the same character from the Mudpack story. I just assumed that they retroactively "unkilled" Hagen.

The 6" Clayface and Man-Bat both are highly BTAS-influenced and I for one couldn't be happier. Note Man-Bat's distended lower jaw and elongated, backward facing ears.
