I think they are a bit bigger and hopefully better painted. I think they are like the PVC figures that DCD made back in the day. That's my thought. Didn't give it too much thought since, once again, Wonder Woman was deleted from the first wave announced. I only really pay attention once I hear/read that Wonder Woman is finally included.

Battle League- is an Attacktix style game--- basically you move pieces a certain number of spaces and than shoot a projectile weapon at your opponents pieces (or swing a lightsaber or arm ...etc)-- if you knock the piece down its out of the game-- usually theres some strategy because their is a point value per piece and you create your point total (like Heroclix) and also on the bottom is usually some special text that applies in certain situations-- such as if another similiar faction character is nearby you get another shot--- or something like that--- the hasbro game is marketed to the 5-8 year old set- not sure if Mattel is trying to aim for more of the collectors with the better sculpts..-- this is one of those games where function is better than form.
Pieces are about 3" tall -- and around 1-1/2 inches across-- size varies as things for the SW game like the Gunship is close to action fleet scale---
also the missles on some of those things shoot about 10 feet...

So are they just collectible figures now with no game aspect at all?
Peace,
Chip

The game aspect looks to have been dropped. Jeff If thats the case-- are they trying to do it similiar to the unleashed figures? I mean thats fine-- except most of those lines do bad-without army builders-- the biggest question is then would they still be randomly packed-- I hope this doesnt mean they think we live in Japan and we want to buy Rare versions of chase action figures randomly--- if so-- I dont think this bodes well for yet another product line-- I mean those WHos Who line of mini dioramas as well as the marvel build a figures in crates-- both died quick deaths because of the randomness--- Mattel is going to kill the line if they try to diversify and bring 4 or 5 different scales of figures at once, especially when people don't believe they will ever see wave 2.
