I think Mattel is being very concious of the no Hal in JLU and trying to make up for it by giving us Hal in DCUC and DCIH.
Lets play a game. Pretend you get to pick the first wave of DCIH.
2 themed 3 packs.
8 single pieces.
go for it.

Because it looks like the figures were just cobbled together as cheaply as possible.
Granted, they were cobbled together since they're just prototypes. I'm anxious to see what the finished products look like, as well as the packaging that they've settled on. I liked the concept of the packaging they had on display at Toy Fair, but it looked like it was oversized for the figures.
Hopefully, everything comes together for this line. I really don't wanna have to invest in yet another DC Universe, but I'm sure I'll be forking over the cash if they come out looking as sweet as Hawkman (and not the hot tranny messes that are Supergirl and Wonder Girl).

I am very excited to see the final product for this line...crossing fingers that Cassie and Kara get new head sculpts...but I think everyone else looks pretty good.
Packaging needs to be reworked badly...seemed massively wasteful.

I disagree on the packaging, I think it's retro and pretty cool. Also someone made the point earlier that the bubble is probably placed that way so they can ship a certain amount in a case and have them not jumble around....
Now for the picks... We can pick anyone right? Not just those announced?
3 pack(s)
JSA
Alan Scott
Jay Garrick
Power Girl
Outsiders
Geo Force
Halo
Black Lighning
8 picks
Shazam
Hawkman
Hourman
Isis
Captain Cold
Riddler
Brainiac (superfriends green humanoid version)
Classic Cheetah

I am psyched for this line too - not so psyched that it will probably mean the end of JLU, but still, it's SOMETHING. lol
I bet the GL Corp 6 pack will be:
Hal Jordan
Sinestro
Kilowog
Tomar Re
Jade
Katma Tui
however, there may be a guardian or TWO... just because the Gotham themed six pack, I THINK, is supposed to be Commissioner Gordon and some cops... but maybe that was just a three pack.
So rethinking that, maybe:
Hal Jordan
Kilowog
Jade
Guardian
Guardian
Sinestro

I'm really not as excited about this line as everyone else but I just don't want to get into anything new at this point. I'll probably be kicking myself for it later. I'll probably stick with my usual of just buying the Flash related characters.

nothing wrong with that. I usually wait on a line until they make a figure I cannot live without. Usually the tipping point is a character I have been previously unable to get. DCDirect was Hourman 1,000,000 after I knew the Hasbro Total Jutsice/JLA line would end without him. I only started buying JL with the Ultra Humanite and Hawkgirl. All of a sudden I am running polls on websites to see who the most wanted characters are trying to influence the direction of the line where the majority of collectors want it to go.
I expect IH will run the same way. One character who was not previously available will tip the scales and I will be into the line. Price alone will determine how complete my line is. DCDirect's original price of 16-18$ a figure locally killed off my desire to buy most of them. Finding them at a more reasonable price started increasing my collection. At this point, most of the ones I have I've picked up for about 12$. I probably have about 30 at this point. DCSH and DCUC has yet to excite my collector bite because I've had the opportunity to buy most of them in that scale before. Also, at the 10$ price, character selection comes into play. I would have bought Metamorpho (his only DCD figure was a boxed set with extra parts for 25$ to 30$), but that was not to be.

I love these figures already and can't wait for NYCC to see who they announce. In the meantime, who doesn't love a list??
Here's my guesses at the 45 characters, plus three and six packs:
1. Batman *
2. Robin #
3. Batwoman *
4. Wildcat *
5. Question *
6. Shazam (Captain Marvel) *
7. Black Adam *
8. Green Arrow *
9. Black Canary *
10. Killer Croc *
11. Hush *
12. Catwoman *
13. Flash (Jay Garrick) *
14. Supergirl *
15. Bizarro *
16. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) *
17. Gotham City SWAT (hooded) (might be exclusive to 3 or 6 pack) *
18. Lex Corps minion (might be exclusive to a three pack)*
19. Black Hand *
20. Gotham City SWAT (cap) (might be exclusive to 3 or 6 pack)*
21. Weather Wizard *
22. Power Girl *
23. Professor Zoom *
24. Dr. Fate #
25. Cyborg #
26. Grace #
27. Aquaman (new) #
28. Katana #
29. Atom #
30. Geo-Force #
31. Unidentified Bald Guy with harness (Heat Wave?) #
32. Adam Strange *
33. Captain Adam #
34. Mr. Terrific #
35. Unidentified Guy with ribbed chest (Major Force?)#
36. Captain Atom #
37. Sinestro
38. Superman
39. Firestorm
40. Deathstroke
41. Nightwing
42. Captain Cold
43. Flash
44. Blue Beetle (new)
45. Killer Moth (hey, one can hope, right?)
THREE PACKS
1. Hawkman and 2 Thangarians *
2. Commissioner Gordon and 2 GCPD *
3. Lex Luthor and 2 Lex Corps minions
SIX PACKS
1. Green Lanterns - Hal Jordan, Sinestro (different deco), Black Hand, 2 Guardians, Tomar Re
2. Gotham City - Gotham City SWAT (x2), Batman (black deco), Joker, Catwoman, Killer Croc
* Confirmed from Toy Fair prototypes
# - Seen on Mock-up packaging
Out of those? First wave?
1. Batman
2. Catwoman
3. Question
4. Adam Strange
5. Wildcat
6. Flash (Jay Garrick)
7. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
8. Green Arrow
Why these? Because they were the ones with articulation already completed on the protoypes (OK, Bizarro had articulation too, but he didn't fit the over-all Batman/Brave & Bold/JSA theme of the wave)

I still think this 'unidentifyable' character is a spy. A Cobra Spy. A Hasbro Cobra Spy. Infiltrating Mattel's DC display. Its what they do.
Of course, any of them could be shapeshifting aliens. Green Aliens. J'onn J'onzz is a green shapeshifting alien. Maybe there are Marvel Skrulls in here too.
