Results are done. Please feel free to comment.
Notes:
1. Votes for characters not on the show were not counted. The place for those votes will be the next poll sometime after SDCC.
2. Ties. It is standard to list ties in alphabetical order. So that is what we did.
3. How these are numbered. If you have a tie for a slot, say #3, then there can be no #4, as the two who tied for #3 take up both slot 3 and slot 4. The next available number is 5.
4. Hal Jordan,Lobo. We know that the votes here are skewed downward because Mattel has said they cannot make them. People voted for them, so we are reporting them in the results. Rest assured that we and Mattel know the demand for these characters is higher than the results show.
5. Shazam. Shazam's showing here is again, not reflective of demand. The call for Shazam was muted by some feeling that he has already been promised to be shown at SDCC so they did not vote for him. Others voted for him because they were not willing to take the risk of him not being made. Based upon past polls, we expect that if everyone who wnats him had voted for him, Shazam would have been the #1 male hero and #1 or #2 in the Top Ten, only beaten by Cheetah.
More as I find it.

Why an overall top ten?
When we ran our first JLU poll, some folks got to the female hero section and listed them as "Fire, Ice, ... uhm". As if to say, "Who else is there?" Meanwhile, the votes for female villains were all filled in. This led me to believe that demand for female villains might be higher than that for female heroes. So for our second poll, I combined the categories. The idea was proven true as the female villains outstripped the female heroes in votes. So this concept, of who do we really want most needed to be applied on an overall basis. Hourman got a lot of votes in the male hero category. But do the collectors really want him, or was he just the only one left to pick? By offering fans the opportunity to mix heroes and villains, male and female, we get a better view of what the overall demand is.

That's it for today, guys...I've gotta rest up before I tackle that "Top 10 Characters" one. It always kicks my butt.
Peace,
Chip

Hold on! These two shows are the same style!
Methinks the former should be "The New Batman Adventures" aka "Gotham Kinghts."

Chip is correct, these are separate styles. (If anyone should know, it would be Chip.)
Batman: The Animated Series
The New Adventures of Batman and Robin (aka Gotham Knights)
Two totally different styles.

I think there should be a note with Shazam as well that alot of people didn't vote for him because we expect to see him at SDCC, if we don't I'll scream! LOL. He's my number 1 and I didn't vote for him because I'm expecting to see him.
Otherwise I'm psyched about the results!

Well, I voted for Shazam exactly because he has not been confirmed. Question yes, Shazam no. I wasn't willing to take the risk, so I voted for him. No asterisk.

My post was worded funny. What I meant is that he's got the title of the newer show incorrect (and so do you).
The late 90's redesign was called "The New Batman Adventures" (working title "Gotham Knights"). The last season of BTAS was retitled "The Adventures of Batman and Robin."

Moving on, lets comment on the results.
The top few have no surpises.
Mr. Terrific and STRIPE
Toy Man, Devil Ray
Cheetah and Killer Frost
taking out those expected to be shown at SDCC, this group has been at or near the top on a consistant basis.
The JSA fans continue to keep Hourman and Dr. Midnite near the top as well.
Crimson Avenger? Was anyone expecting him to score this high?
I guess not very many wanted the Ultimen as they did not make it to the results.

I think it's cool that S.T.R.I.P.E, Crimson Avenger and Speedy are all in the top 10. Shows that people are eager to get the 7 Soldiers team completed.
Also, although I would have liked to see them higher in the ranking, I was glad to see Batman Beyond and Old Bruce Wayne in the top twenty. I think these two need to be released together if the get made.
But yeah, these are good results!!

I assume this was directed at my comments regarding the titles of the shows. If that's the case, then I must point out that I am commenting the results. Specifically, the results to the last question on the poll. It needs to be clarified which show is meant by "The New Adventures of Batman and Robin," as there is no such such show in the Timm-verse. There are only "The Adventures of Batman and Robin" and "The New Batman Adventures."
Mattel has confused TNBA with "The Batman" in past communications with them, so if these results are to be shared with them, then I feel they need to be accurate.
