FYI, I asked over at the Spawn.com forums and McFarlane's license covers Halo 1, 2 & 3!

Here's hoping the line performs well at retail so we can get figs from the 1st two games in scale with the H3 stuff!

Found 'em tonight in Columbus, OH at Wal-Mart on 23.

Picked up Master Chief and Brute Chieftan.

Love 'em! Best thing McFarlane Toys has ever done, imho.

Joe F (Spawn.com forum mod) has stated that Halo Series 4 is in the planning stages. No date or hint of what it might contain yet.

Maybe there'll be some news at SDCC?

I'm really hoping for Sgt. Johnson and some generic Marines.

And some stuff from Halo 1 & 2 like Tartarus and lesser Brutes.

Jeff

Some questions answered on the Spawn.com forums:

1. Is the Red EOD, and Brute Stalker typos? Why do we need rereleases of those two.

Not a typo. In the case of the Brute Stalker, we wanted to make the figure available to all retailers due to the fact that it's initial release this winter will be limited to Wal-Mart and TRU.

The red EOD is just a case of testing the waters in terms of figure availability. As most of you know these lines have been selling fairly quickly, and we wanted to kind of test out the demand for a given figure by "keeping" on the shelf for a little longer.

2. Does the bubble shield actually come with a bubble shield or is it just the generator.

The equipment accessories will be the generators, so in the case of the bubble shield you will get the equipment, not the actual dome.

3. What color will the Mark VI with the mongoose be?

It won't be turquoise.

4. What about chest and shoulder pads for 12 inch figures.

The helmets are meant to be collectible pieces (each with its own display base) with a secondary function as accessories for your 12-inch figures.

5. Line now says Halo not Halo 3, does this mean characters from older games, i.e. Tarturus, Mercy, Regret, and Captain Keyes.

Hmmmmm...

6. Concerning the Heroes Collection, I know and understand if I can't get a yes but is there a strong possibility of a Scarab in this line, because for me and I am sure others this is the linchpin to whether I buy any or all Heroes Collection figures..,.please some answer....

I would say to take a hint from our 5-inch line. We are starting with a focus on the figures with the intention of expanding out from their if the program is as successful as we think it will be. Whether or not that means we'll be offering up a Scarab... we'll see. It would be cool though.

7. Are we getting new Spartan/MC molds with more articulation?

No.

8. Snow Mongoose later?

What do you think?

9. Why are we getting a MC Helmet in helmet sets?

Again, the main focus of the helmets is collect-ability. You don't need to have the 12-inch figure to have a sweet HALO helmets display, but if you do, you can always mix/match the helmets.

10. Are we done with various store exclusives, will those colors just be in the normal line or will we see on and off exclusives, Walmart one wave, Gamestop another.

We are not done with the exclusives, but we will be cutting back on them next year.

On a related note: Just because a certain armor/color combo was exclusive to a retailer in a particular series doesn't mean that same combo won't be made available as part of a normal assortment somewhere down the road.

11. Last one, does this mean we will see more walmarts carrying Halo, and maybe other stores.

That's the plan, but it may take some time to get there. We're doing our best to help them see the popularity of the HALO brand, and I think they are really starting to take notice.

Oh and we can we expect PICTURES?????????????????????

You can expect pictures, but I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.

So what is everyone's thoughts on the Halo line? I haven't bough any yet and was contemplating jumping into the line. How "sturdy" are the figures? WAY back in the day when I actually purchased Spawn toys I was alway a little put off because the joints were pretty fragile.

Is there any good site to look at to see a checklist or visual guide to this line?

I love the line, which is something I never thought I'd be saying about a McFarlane line.

I'm a big Halo fan, and these figures are fantastic representations of the Halo universe. I'm not a fan of 6" scale (despite having a gazillion of 'em since that's been the main thing for the past several years) so I'm perfectly happy with the 5" scale of the Halo line.

I haven't had any issues with sturdiness. They seem fine to me ('course, most of mine have pretty much been in a box since I got 'em since we've been in the process of packing and moving).

I'm really excited that we're finally getting Sgt. Johnson and a Marine next year.

J

Some cool stuff coming....check out this thread:

http://board.spawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=505782

Spartan from Halo Wars, The Rookie from the upcoming Halo 3: ODST game coming later this year and a Brute bodyguard.

Joe F from McFarlane posted in the thread that there will be additional Halo Wars-based figures peppered into upcoming assortments.

Awesome!
