...Cheaply!

Take the Brave & The Bold Beetle Bug, replace the bubble canopy with some kind of cheap opening wing lid. Swap the two "eyes" up front with clear plastic ones, and the giant chair inside with four smaller chairs.

Quick photochop mockup. Figures would be smaller.

And In lieu of any Watchmen figures, a Charlton analogue set would kick ass!

I would be all over that. And if they did it they could include the Question with the trench coat. And don't forget Peter Cannon Thunderbolt who I believe was the inspiration for Ozymiandas

Can't be done.
Don't hold your breath for Pete Cannon.
Back in the 90's the creator bought the rights back from DC.
That means DC no longer owns the rights to the character.
So they cannot license them to Mattel.

The cheapest way is for us to ignore manufacturer and buy some old GIJoe / Star Wars vehicles at yard sales and flea markets.

I'd buy that even if it only came with a Ted Kord Blue Beetle.

Me too brother. Me too. Or if they did a Booster Gold - Blue Beetle set with the bug.. SOLID !!

Superfriend - I didn't know that about Peter Cannon. Anyway that's cool. A Peacemaker would be neat.

Pete Morisi's three sons now own the rights to the Thunderbolt character. Far as I now, they haven't licensed him out again since Morisi's passing.

As for that Bug, I would be all over it. Any vehicles for the IH line would look sweet.

Cheaply for them (Mattel) yes, The ships already sculpted been tooled and made, all they have to do is rework the interior to three or four seats instead, maybe add a trap door so Ted Kord can hang out the bottom, and repackage it for another line.

And gathering enough parts from GIJoe / Star Wars vehicles at yard sales and flea markets to make this vehicle would not be cheap or eassy.

See, there's the flaw in your logic. All those "little" changes require new tooling. If you want a trap door, they have to change the tool for the original base plate (to accomodate the new door and hinge) as well as a new tool for the door. Ripping out the interior to replace it with new/different chairs ... same problem.

The only way for it to be done cheaply (I hate that word, makes me think "low quality", let's say cost effectively  ) would be as a straight up repaint/redeco.

I would much rather see that tooling money go into a new design that was specific to the line rather than trying to re-appropriate something from another line to wedge in.

In regards to your propsed Charlton pack ... I would buy that in a heartbeat!
