Here is another commission. While i like that others come to me to make them figures, i REALLY APPRECIATE when other customizers want me to make a figure for them. Its quite flattering.

That being said, here is JLU Sinestro Corp Arkillo

Image

He wanted him in scale with Kilowog, so I use Kilowog body as the base.
Head was sculpted and cast. His hands were casts of Animated Spiderman Venom ( older 90's cartoon) not new one.
Then i had to cut the hands down because they were huge.

I also made the biggest faux pas when making any Lantern custom.... I forgot the ring! SO i added it digitally here. Luckily, as mentioned, this person is a customizer and said they would take care of it. Sorry.

Let me know what you think.

That looks great! How did you get that symbol on the chest? Is it painted on there? I'm thinking about trying my first custom and just repainting Killowog as an SC member so this was great timing.

As far as the emblem, it looks like he printed one and then attached it via decouppage. That's what I do quite often and if done correctly you can't tell the difference.

I said it elsewhere Glass, but it bears repeating. That one turned out just unbelievably well. Such a good likeness, and great thinking on the hands my friend.

What is decouppage? I've seen that referenced several times.

Basically the process of using glue or gel to affix emblems to custom figures. The best and simplest explanation I've seen can be found on my buddy Casimir's site.

Casimir Site

One thing I will say is that I cheat. Matte gel can be hard to find. So I've taken to using the clear Elmer's glue. Works just as well, dries clear, and much less expensive. But the process is the same.

Thanks, that was very informative.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Tex answered the question, except i laser print my logos on label paper, so they are peel and stick.
Then i cover it with sealant when i seal the figure.
I use the laser printer because it doesn't run or smear when wet like an inkjet label sometimes does.

Hey Glassman, do you have the SC symbol somewhere for printing or know where I can find one?

If i get a chance tomorrow i'll post one here.

That's an outstanding Arkillo, Glassman!

If you've been reading Green Lantern Corps lately, he just needs his tongue cut off and hanging around his neck.
