It would be nice to see him have mentors (Jay, Alan, Ted) and friends (Mr. Terrific, Dr. Mid-Nite, Hawkman) - we already know he's good with kids (Stargirl, Jakeem, Cyclone)
Batman "dead" - such a freakin' waste. But then again, Batman has been poorly written since 2000.
I agree entirely. Myself being a HUGE golden age and JSA fan, the current/dead Batman would have made an excellent addition to the JSA. However, Batman was always used mostly with the JLA or the Outsiders. Always used where he could basically run the show instead of help run the show.

F.Y.I. I am looking for old Batman/Superman animated figures. I need Killer Croc, Manbat, Ventriliquist, Alfred, Riddler and Lois Lane.

I think that Batman in the JSA would have been an interesting dynamic. He is entirely too untrustworthy for the majority of the elder team to be comfortable with, except for maybe Wildcat. The youngsters would be too in awe of him to be of any practical use. Battles would have choreographed much more tightly with some members "used" as "distraction" so Batman could get in place to do what needed to be done.
Team leadership would constantly be in question as Bats goes off to fix what he thought was necessary.
But, what he would have gotten out of it would have been huge. He has always lacked "family" and the JSA has always been family focused in their motivation.
Not a team I would have automatically paired him up with but I can see how it might play out ...

SDcomics,
It's like you read my mind! I've been a fan of the Earth II heroes from the first time I saw them.
Thanks for the recap and the wonderful covers and pictures!
And I'm collecting the JSA membership as well. Hope that between Mattel and DCD the entire cast will eventually be produced!

He was designed that way in the Kingdom Come series, as an homage/mockery of the 90s characters that led to the eventual downfall of heroism in the DCU.
I doubt that Waid and Ross ever thought he would be an actual character in the current DCU. He was meant to be a joke.

Hopefully, the Golden Age Starman will be announced real soon. Next up, I'd love to see the Golden Age Sandman. The yellow and purple costume would be cool, as well. And the Flash. Mike (And don't get me started on Johnny Thunder, Mr. Terrific and the Star-Spangled Kid. More JSA please, Mattel!)
