So today I made the trek over to the Philadelphia Convention Center to check out Wizard World.

My god, I have never seen anything so poorly run, and overpriced. As to avoid ranting I shall put this into bullet points.
-The Convention center staff seems to think screaming is an effective form of communication.
- There was a rather distinct lack of informational signs, and the Volunteers knew NOTHING.
-I was amazed that neither DC nor Marvel had a booth.
-Quite a few advertised companies/attractions were simply not there; --Mattel's booth
--Tonner's Booth (which became Patrick Stewart's Booth)
--The Ecto 1
--The Mystery Machine
-No Free Swag (I prefer to not feel as though I paid 35 bucks to walk into an overpriced mall)
-Bruce Campbell's appearance was apparently sold out in advance online, this would have been another great time for a sign, as I ended up waiting in line for quite some time without knowing this.
-the price some of the celebrities charge for an autograph is absurd, Patrick Stewart, I'm looking at you ($60)

Truth be told the experience wasn't totally awful, it just has been much better in the past.

wow that sucks! Autographs should be free IMO after paying to get in. Hopefully next year will be better.

Only $60? I'm kind of surprised, I thought he charged more than that (perhaps he charges more at the Star Trek shows). I think Mark Hamill was charging $80 at the last SDCC he signed at.

The only place I know of that has free autographs these days is Disney's Star Wars Weekends.

I feel really bad for the patrick stewart folks. Whereas his line was many hours long, and outside the convention floor, they technically paid 95 bucks to get an autograph.

To be honest I don't mind paying for the autograph if you are taking one of the actor's headshots, but frankly it pissed me off just a little bit that Brent Spiner charged me the same 30 bucks to sign my copy of the 1776 cd that he did to people taking his 8x10's. At least he was incredibly nice.

Yeah, going to take this with a grain of salt. $60.00 for Patrick Stewarts autograph is next to nothing. I paid $80.00 for Leonard Nimoy and my only regret is that I couldn't get my crew picture signed in addition to that. I think sometimes folks need to get over themselves when it comes to autograph fees

i only went to the friday of this crap fest. I got a boatload of cheap trades and then got the hell out of there around 3.

The lack of panels and the price to get in was amazing. That said I will go again next year but ONLY for the $5 trade bins. I got about $400 worth of trades for $210 (including admission)
