With the announcement that there will be super-limited SDCC exclusive Outer Space Men, I can now not worry about spending money on them. I simply decline to in light of that announcement.
I do still love these characters, and I'm jazzed that toys are on their way after thirty-something years. It really is an awesome thing. I hope they sell, and sell well!

May I ask why you are taking this stance? I seriously doubt it'll be the regular editions that are exclusive to SDCC, if that is what concerns you. If the Horsemen are taking a page from Onell Designs on this line I would wager it'd be some specially colored variants, or translucent or some such. Onell does limited runs of their Glyos stuff all the time. I expect the standard versions will be easily available.

Gotta pass myself until the regular editions show up. I'm stoked for the fans who have been waiting decades for this line to return, but I have enough exclusives to keep up with already in order to maintain my collections relatively complete. There are so many DC, Marvel, MOTUC, and Doctor Who SDCC related items to deal with in 2010! Doesn't take away from the sweetness of these, still.

Jeff Cope, it pretty much comes down to how my personal collecting habits have changed over the last year or two. I used to be the type who would collect all or nothing in a line. There was no middle ground. This was mainly due to my completist Star Wars collecting. But, I dropped Star Wars cold turkey. I will only collect a very, very tiny amount of SW stuff anymore. In fact, only collect JLU now, and some Disney pins...and autographs when the opportunities arise. When I let go of my completist mentality, it helped put things in perspective for me.
The Outer Space Men are one of those Holy Grail type toylines that I always wanted, and I always told myself that if they ever were made, I'd be all-in. But, I'm having second doubts in light of there being any kind of SDCC exclusives tied to them. When the actual non-exclusive line comes along, I might still change my mind. I guess it all comes down to the price point, and how easy/difficult it is to acquire them.

I was just a bit confused as you seemed to be really looking forward to the OSM, and seemed really put off by the SDCC exclusive news. I saw some talk on another board (might have been the Horsemen's board) where someone was saying not to plan on being a completist on this line as far as each and every variant IF the Four Horsemen were to follow the Onell model. But, again if they follow that model, we're just talking color variations and such. I'm so stoked about the line, but really am planning on only picking up the regular editions (canonical colors, so to speak). Maybe if I find some variant particularly striking I may get it. Maybe. I guess what I'm saying is....wait and see. Being a very small company, I just like to see the 4H get as much support as possible, I guess. Alrighty....seems I'm rambling now!

I want to see The Four Horsemen's Outer Space Men succeed wildly! One, because I like the OSM, and two, because success breeds further success. Maybe, just maybe, once the 'hip, new' ThunderCats 'toon comes and goes within two years of it's premiere, then maybe the 4H'ers can finally get a crack at true Thundercats toys, or some other dormant 70's/80's property and bring greatness to it.

LOVING these guys! My only 'complaint' is that they appear to have the standard five-point articulation. I wish that they opted for bendy wireframes like the originals. My older brothers had a couple of these, as a kid I always just assumed that they were villians from the Matt Mason line! Either way, I'll be (hopefully) getting several of each. Whats that characters name, the big brawny reptile-type alien? "Colossus Rex" or something like that? HE was a childhood favorite. Take care!

Actually, if you look at the pics on the Onell site, the figures are shown to have connector points at the boots and gloves (and at mid-tentacle for Astro-Nautilus) so they will swivel there even if they aren't full-fledged knee and elbow hinges (or bendy points).

Works for me then! I had actually heard that they would utilize the Glyos System joints, but thought that to be rumour. Awesome that its NOT though!! I love what Matt does with those Glyos guys, very neat. I only wish that the line would expand FASTER to include things like arm attachments, accessories, beasts/vehicles, etc! (Have you seen the custom Glyos figures called "Infection" done by Marty the GodBeast? WOW are they cool!) Take care!

Thanks Dan.
I thought I had registered a long time ago, but can't remember anything with my login details.
I just re-registered. I want every figure in this line.
Peace,
Chip

With all the stuff being released at SDCC, I was ready to pass on these but the offer is too good to ignore.
