Although it's still 3 weeks away yet, I wanted to know how many people were going to try to get Roboto on the 15th? I'm less excited about him now, than when they first revealed him. But that may change 3 or 4 times before Matty Sale day. The chances of actually being able to get him should be relatively high. I don't think he's a highly demanded character, and I think the same goes for the Zodac (or Zodak, I always thought that was silly) release on the same day.

I'm passing on Roboto. He has a pretty blah design IMO.

So no WSOD worries until November.

Well, I've officially gone from lukewarm to completely frigid about the prospect of getting Roboto. The more I look at the images the less I want it. Like Shellhead said, it's a pretty blah design. I guess I'll be passing on him as well. I'll just put that $28.70 I had earmarked this month aside for the WSOD extravaganza next month. It's almost guaranteed to be a nightmare.

I guess you can call me a sheep, because I'm definitely following the herd on this one. No Roboto for me.

Do those gears under Roboto's chest plate move? That would be cool.

Knowing the 4H, they probably do.

Actually the Horsemen had nothing to do with that, TG got the sculpt in and asked the enginneers if the gears could be made to work like the vintage one *and* with all of the correct colors, granted we'll know in a couple of weeks if the factory managed to get that right on every figure...

I've got my motuclassics.com review of Roboto up over at IAT. I was pretty happy with him (after not expecting to be), but there are still a bunch of little annoyances with him. He's still cool, but he could've been even better.

Ya know, Daniel, until I read your review I'd never thought about the Roboto hand in Trap-Jaw colors, but I want that, too, now... Granted I have no ties to the vintage toys but after seeing that I'm thinking what if Fisto and Jitsu were to come with detachable/compatible hands that could be swapped out with the Roboto and Trap-Jaw pieces?... Is there anyone else that would work for?...

I was wondering, with King Grayskull looming next month, how difficult do you think it'll be to get him? His SDCC exclusive figure (and it's variants) has fetched ridiculous sums of money on the secondary market. So I'm thinking it'll be a feeding frenzy when he goes on sale in a few weeks. Not to mention the fact that the JLU Parademons (whom I also want), Grizzlor, the weapons pack and Venkman will be on sale. Should I even bother?

Man, Cal, when did you become Peter Pessimist?

I'm not interested in him, and you have to think that a lot of Die Hard MOTUC fans already have him either from eBay or SDCC itself.

Will the site be a mess? Yes, as usual.

Will Greyskull be particularly hard to nab? Maybe not.

Peter Pessimist indeed . I dunno Bill, I hope that you're right, and I'm misgauging the interest in King Grayskull. What I have noticed (not that this means anything), is that some of the same sub-holders who were pre-selling Carnivus and Count Marzo for only a couple dollars over retail, are selling Grayskull for over twice retail. Whether that is an indication of the character's popularity remains to be seen.

You asked for it and it's finished. A vertical sword hand for your He-Man classics figure! It took a while but it's finished. You can find more info about it on my blog.

I figured I'd dig this thread up since we're less than a week away from sale day. I'm starting to have the opposite reaction to Grizzlor as Monday approaches, than I did for Roboto. The more I look at him, the more I'm warming to the furry boogledong. I think I may actually get him. What I found on Ebay certainly helped cement my decision:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2506wt_907

This guy is selling him for less than retail, with the option of "Make an Offer", to get him for even cheaper. I've purchased from him twice before, and I don't think I'm gonna pass it up this time. Not at that price, and with the opportunity to avoid the WSOD altogether. Well, that's not entirely true. I still want to get King Grayskull and the Parademons, so I'll have to suffer through some of it.
