damian robin looks great

looks a lot like my custom damian figure (who was made with the dc direct damian wayne figure)

who is that indian guy?
is the that batman in his new suit?
who is the other batman (forgive me i'm not keeping up on the current events too closely atm) dick grayson?

looking forward to these a lot more than return or the bruce wayne

still hoping for a red robin and some other new chars! (the old dc direct red robin is ok but a new one would be nice too!)

Yeah, who is the Indian guy? I haven't been keeping up on the comics lately either.
I agree that the Robin figure looks very nice. :)

The Batman is Bruce in his new costume. Dick is keeping his current costume. The Knight is from "Knight and Squire" and has been in the Bat-books for a while now as the "English counterpart" and is currently starring in his own miniseries. Damian Robin we all know and love.

The "Man of Bats" (according to the place tag) is a new character, I believe, that will be an induction into the "Inc." team when Morrison launches that book. I don't believe we have seen him before, at least not under that name.

Yeah, this is old news out of SDCC direct from Dan Didio and Grant Morrison. Part of the whole "Inc." part of Batman Inc.

The basic premise is that Bruce/Batman realizes (based on his return to the present thanks to being zapped by the Omega Effect) the world has a need for the "batman concept" to be functional on a global scale. So, he heads out and recruits. The Knight will be the first "franchise". Dick will stay on as Batman and take care of Gotham and/or the US. As Bruce/Batman travels the globe to recruit, some heroes will change personas and take on a Bat-mantle, others will keep their own look and work in the "batman style".

Its an interesting take on the themes, but I have no idea where they plan on going with this. I can see it lead to a TON of friction with some of the other heroes, especially those with memories of Bruce's involvement the creation of Brother Eye and the OMACS...

I am suddenly reminded of a "Green Arrows from around the world" story I read years ago.

Sigh.

I just want Nightwing back. :(

Dick wasn't meant to be Batman. Unless there's been another retcon, wasn't Dick always afraid of becoming too much like Bruce? Didn't he want to be his own man? I really liked his solo series and it obviously did well, considering it lasted well over 100 issues.

Bring back Nightwing, DC.

Please!

about the new dc direct damian robin's belt

this is the coloring the belt appeared on the comic covers of batman & robin
i used 1-15 as reference pics when making my custom
the covers showed his belt as black but the inside had it as all yellow

just wanted to add that =)

they went with the cover image, not the actual comic appearence, slightly interesting

Could Care less about another Batman or the man Of Bats figures. The Damien i'll grab. The Knight.... I'll only grab that if they solicit a Squire in the series 2 before he comes out. I like the idea of the character, but the Knight figure would be nothing without it's Squire.

Kight and Squire have 1 more connection with figures we already have. Grant Morrison used them in the first arc of the comic JLA Classified. We have a wave of figures from DC Direct for that arc specifically. Squire in particular plays a role in that arc as I recall. Its been a while since I read it, so my recall may be fuzzy.
