Figured it was time to start a thread. A few items were shown at NYCC this weekend...mainly movie Thor, Odin and Loki. I'm hoping a few comic series figures might show up today...
This is the place to discuss the upcoming Thor movie toys! Carry on! For Asgard!

I was pretty impressed with them. More often than not, I really dislike movie likenesses. These are actually pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how deep they'll delve into the movie/comic. Will we get to see Lady Sif, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, Heimdall, Balder and Enchantress? I'm sure Destroyer is a given, as it will play a prominent role in the movie.

I may end up with some of the movie figures, but I am really looking forward to the comic line, especially if it is done as well as the IM Comic line. I want Asgardians, including Odin, Baldur, The Warriors Three, Sif (not gonna happen!) along with The Destroyer and many others (we need a Executioner to go with The Enchatress, right?). Too bad they don't make BAFs for these because Surtur would be great! A Surtur/Odin set would be even better! A Marvel Masterpiece like Galactus perhaps?

I think my interest will be limited to only the comic accurate figures, just like the IronMan 2 line. I love THOR and I'll buy pretty much any comic version characters sight unseen. Thunder Strike!

The Executioner is a must. We already have the Enchantress and they go together like PB&J.

Do we have any confirmation of a Thor Comic Series?

I know someone was trying to say comic series might not happen (don't ask me where), IMO that would be Hasbro shooting itself in the foot.
I think it should be obvious a Destroyer is coming either way.
Comic series I would love to see: Beta Ray Bill Thunderstrike Armored Thor An improved Classic version of Thor Odin Loki Ulik Exicutioner

Finally, some confirmation that there will be Thor comic figures: From RTM's Marvel Q&A: Quote: 2) When will we first see any figures from a comic-based Thor line? Cap has comic figures next year, so Thor obviously has some too. When will they first be shown? And why was more Cap product shown at NYCC than Thor merchandise?
Answer: The Thor movie product line will hit store shelves in March 2011. There is proportionally more movie related figures than comic inspired figures in the Thor line than the Captain America line, which is why more Captain America product was shown at NYCC.

Good to hear there will be comic figures. I've wanted a Balder nad Sif figure for a long time now, I hope they make an appearance.
I wonder if the Thor line will just be a lot smaller than Caps line in the first place. I can kinda see where a toy line based on the Norse god of Thunder could possibly be a tough sell in certain parts of the country.

Awesome news. Contingent on how the sculpts look, this may be the first line I'm ever a completist in.

Me personally, I would mostly only be interested in the Thor comic series figures anyway. Based on how pleased I am with the Iron Man 2 comic series figures I figured that both the Captain America and Thor Comic series figures would be a must have/sure thing to happen for me as long as they are actually being made. I guess I will cross my fingers and hope for the best although it would just make good business sense for the high ups in the toy company to make this happen. But then again....good business sense doesn't exist with some toy companies at all it seems. LOL.

F.Y.I. I am looking for old Batman/Superman animated figures. I need Killer Croc, Manbat, Ventriliquist, Alfred, Riddler and Lois Lane.

Maybe there'll even be a little cross-promotion and we'll get the Thorbuster Iron Man armor!

It was based on the Destroyer Armor, if I recall correctly. It's not one of my favorites, but I wouldn't mind seeing what Hasbro could do with it.
