That's probably the only thing there is to discuss about this line.

You guys aren't serious are you? I absolutely love what I've been seeing from this line as well as the movie. Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone.

I am completely serious. The film has the wrong tone (too much comedy and cheesy one-liners) and Ryan Reynolds is acting more like Kyle Rayner than Hal Jordan. The majority of reaction around the net is the same. People are not liking what they saw in the trailer and the film is getting bad buzz already. It's got the same look and feel of the Fantastic Four films that came out a few years back -- and we know how well THAT franchise did.

And to top it off, the action figures look like cheap, poorly sculpted, poorly painted products that would have looked great if released back in the 1990s, but not in 2011. These are going to pegwarm big time, and by the end of this year we'll be so sick of seeing green in the toy aisles, just like all the Iron Man 2 toys that continue to clog the pegs. If you really want to buy these toys, I suggest waiting to get them for clearance prices around Christmas time. Or better yet, wait until 2012 when they'll be moved to Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Big Lots at rock bottom prices. :)

"I know, RIGHT???"

The movie hasn't even come out yet and I already can't stand it.

You are dead-on about the 'tone' of the film. It's not Hal Jordan at all.

Peace,

Chip

I really think the Movie Masters figures are really cool. I already have 3 of them in the mail (and I just can't wait fo it).

If it could be used as a measure of the general interest, all the Hal Jordan auctions ended costing more than $100.

So, even if the movie couldn't correspond to my expectatives, the figures still look ultra cool IMO.

That's only because they aren't out yet. Plus it only takes two people to drive up a bid.

I won't buy these, but I can bet I could buy one get two free this fall.

i thought the batman movie masters figures were amazing, and two-face was the only one i paid full price for. honestly, i keep most of my stuff moc, so if the sculpting and the packaging doesnt jive in my mind with tdkmm packaging & sculpting, i probably wont even buy them on clearance. what i DEFINITELY wont do is buy them before i see the movie. there are hundreds of superior green lantern toys out there, just from a visual standpoint. if i NEED a green lantern action figure other than the ross justice ones from dcd (jordan, jordan in armor and stewart), i'd spend $40 or however much getting an old super powers one before i'd choose the LOOK of the ryan reynolds movie figure. it just reminds me of the robin figure from the kenner batman returns line, which was the lamest figure in that line of otherwise pretty awesome figures. i mean, penguin commandos. that was rad.

anyhow, no matter what is shown at toy fair for the gl movie lines, until i see the film, i wont be decideing on anything for certain one way or the other. that said, the 4" flip-action construct figures, or whatever they're called, look kinda fun, and hey, if they're all gonna look like kiddie toys anyway, might as well buy the cheaper ones that actually do something kind of fun.

The fact is, all of these auctions had more than 10 different bidders. I was there. And you can buy some of the coolest figures ever with a discount some time before it is released. I bought my Star Wars AT-AT and my Battlecat with discounts, and these 2 were among the best figures ever released, so what`s the point? Anyway I`ll buy more of each when they hit that ultra low price.

I was just saying that a high finishing bid is not necessarily a sign of future success.

Gosh... TEN whole bidders? Wow... that might just be enough demand to save this line from pegwarming!

Ten bidders willing to pay up to $100 for each of those loose figures in each auction (I counted 15 of them myself). List any released action figure of whatever you collect for $100 and try to find TEN whole bidders  :P
