Still nothing from thor here, I figure they will stick to the pattern and wait until Friday to put them out (tends to be stock days).

I heard somewhere that the official street date for these is March 1st. If that's the case, your stores may already have them, and are just abiding by it.

Luckily, I found some rebellious stores that don't play by the rules. I picked up Odin, who is staying in the package until we get word about any future releases with a hat, one basic Frost Giant, and two of the deluxe Frost Giants.

And color me confused about the random "Marvel's" being stuck in the names there. Why does the deluxe Frost Giant require it and not the basic? I usually assume companies just know what they're doing, but y'know what, there are maniacs in every walk of life, so why not among the people who name toys?

I saw the Thor figures at a Target here in Tucson today. I don't expect to collect them, but they seem well made.

I was especially amused by the kid-sized hammer, though. I had to catch a bus, so I didn't really have time to look it over, but I do find myself wondering if any of the various warnings and cautions on it had anything to say about not using it on younger siblings or family pets...

Are there any store exclusives for this line?

Exactly what I was saying, but most of the stores around here wait until the stock day after the release day to put these things out. Went today still nothing, but again not unusual nessessarly. Only time I see stores he break that pattern is when release day is a weekend, in which they stock the stuff the friday before. But I am betting it's tomorrow or friday before I see anything locally.

Have they announced anything regarding Comic versions like IM 2 did? Probably discussed before but I can't find anything on it and that is probably the only thing I'd collect in this line.

Spotted this wave tonight at WalMart.
I've gotta say, they look just like the movie characters but sadly this means they don't look like Thor COMIC characters. :(

I'm not a big fan of this line b/c I'm a comics purist and they look is very different from how I grew up seeing Thor, Ordin, Loki, etc from the Marvel Comics. However, I can see kids embracing the line, especially with all the gimics. Been seeing these at my local Target for a few weeks now. Last time I did a circuit to the stores in my area I noticed the pegs nearly empty from the last time I checked what was out. Surprised me a bit. I wonder what the big draws will be. I guess Odin for sure.

I thought I would never see Odin and Loki unless I got lucky and stumbled across a new case, but neither are hard to get around me, especially Odin.

I also notice that Marvel is back to dominating the boy's toys aisle again over DC. DC's peg presence at Target is pathetic.

I returned my "big four" yesterday. I decided that I didn't need $32 worth of movie Thor figures that I'll never really deal with again in my house. :-/

Why no comic line, Hasbro? I'm super-psyched for the CA line, and it is going to get a fair amount of my money.

I really think Hasbro missed the boat with the Thor line.

So far, I've bought 2 Frost Giants. That's it. I might break down and get Odin eventually (maybe during a sale) and the Destroyer armor is a lock.

I want to say I'll be getting some of the other Asgardians (Fandral is passable as the comic version), but I don't know. If they had bothered with a Comic series I would have picked up nearly all of them.

The biggest loss, though, is the various monsterous foes Thor has (like Ulik, Fenris, Kurse, Malekith, Mangog, Surtur, Ymir). Kids LOVE monsters and Hasbro could have channeled a little Star Wars alien mojo into the line.

Not to mention cool villians like the Executioner, Quicksand, Radioactive Man, Grey Gargoyle, and Ares.

What a missed opportunity. :(
