There's not much more to say about the Iron Man 2 toy line other than wondering if we'll ever get Mandarin, so I figure it's time to embrace the new name. For anyone who wasn't aware (like I wasn't), the 6" Legends figures have started slipping into Toys R Us already. So far I've only seen the Mark VI on shelves. $17.99, huh? Wow. We're two bucks away from MOTUC prices on regular retail releases. It may have been inevitable, but it's still sobering. I don't usually pay much attention to packaging, but I do like this new Avengers branding that Thor and Iron Man share, and which Cap will no doubt follow. It really makes them feel like one massive toy line, which is a vibe I never got from Marvel Universe and previous movie lines (between different aesthetics and repeating characters). The Toys R Us website and Hasbro Toy Shop both have figures up for order. Predictably, Titanium Man is not currently available from either of them. Although TRU.com does have the Hulkbuster armor (which I have no interest in, but at least it's not another re-release).

And in slightly less exciting news, the 3" figures are available for preorder on Big Bad Toy Store.Where, again, the one bad guy is already sold out. Good luck, everyone.

I want to be excited about this line. But the price point, and the fact they haven't given us anything that 3 3/4 line already has, made me lose interest.

Definitely a fair point, but I'm looking at the 6" Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo as a nice holdover until Marvel Legends proper returns. I'm even excited for the 6" Red Skull and Destroyer from the Cap and Thor lines, if only because I don't have those ML figures and they go for a ton on ebay.

Now that I can agree with you on, Sean. All of those figures you named are conspicuously absent from my ML collection. The price is still a major sticking point with me though.

Oh, sure, take away my longest thread! I would like Titanium Man/CD for my Legends collection. A buddy of mine has already snagged T-man. My primary concern is finding that last wave of comic figures for IM2 right now, though.

I saw Titanium Man, War Machine, Hulkbuster Iron Man (which is way tinier than his original marvel Legends figure) , and one of the Mark whatever-- 6" earlier this week at TRU.. I havent dropped money for Valkyrie or Black Widow Yet-- definitely wont do it for any of these.

I just opened my Titanium Man. He is okay. Soft plastic again, most noticeable at the knees and the warped right leg. No foot pegholes; he stands on his own, but I could probably fix the warped leg using stands, so that's disappointing. Stuck legs at the hips had to be the worst issue! I finally had to grab a paper towel and some needle nose pliers to get the legs to rotate on the hips. This was probably the closest a Hasbro ML figure has reminded me of a Toy Biz ML figure, and not in a nice way.
Besides those issues, all correctable with a little effort, he is a fine looking figure with very good articulation. Hasbro dos the ball-hips much better than Toy Biz ever did. And some of their added articulation works better than some of Toy Biz's, although Toy Biz was always pushing the envelope. The body definitely highlights what is right with a Hasbro ML body though.
Now bring on Crimson Dynamo!

So far, I've seen Titanium Man and War Machine at the local TRU, but the price kills it for me. Sorry, I can't think of any normal line that's worth $17.99 per figure. It's a rip off, I won't take part.

I concur, but as a massive Iron Man fan, I'm gonna suck it up and buy T-man and CD when I finally see them on the pegs. I will tell you, though, that I'm not gonna pay that much for ML characters in general. Of course, by 2012 when Legends truly starts up again, they'll probably be $19.99 a pop.

With being charging 8 to 9 bucks for Hasbo's teeny Marvel Universe figures, foolishness like this doesn't surprise me. What a rip off. Get ready for the latest Iron Man peg warmers.

Looks like the new wave has hit. I picked up Crimson Dynamo today.
It struck me while I was in line, seeing the ridiculous price appear on the register's screen, thinking back over how unimpressed I was with Titanium Man...that I really will buy just about anything. One figure per wave is bad enough, but the return of Marvel Legends is going to kill me.

If they are $19.99 each, forget it. I won't pay that for the JLU 3-packs, I sure won't do it for a single figure, regardless of size. It's just not worth it.

Sean, could you post some pics? $20 is ridiculous, but CD is the last of the "Legends" type Iron Man characters I want. At least until they start making new ones in 2012. Who else is in Wave 2 BTW?

The others in Wave 2 are your standard "stealth" blue repaint, the suitcase armor in black and gold, and War Machine in his Initiative armor (which I don't know well enough to say how accurate it is). As for pics, I'm afraid I can just do in-package for now. Once I got home I realized the thing was a mess of bad paint apps, so I'm gonna hold out for a bit and see if I can find a better one.
