I'm starting up a Marvel Super-Heroes RPG campaign this summer using Heroclix figures as miniatures. And I realized that Matchbox/Hot Wheels vehicles would work adequately for my needs when I have to use a map involving cars. So I started buying a few of them here and there.
However, I'm having trouble finding certain types that I need: Police cars, Firetrucks, military vehicles, and trucks specifically. I've got plenty of cars, I need buses, garbage trucks, construction vehicles, etc. I can't seem to find tanks, APCs, or jeeps anywhere. And semi-trucks are like $4 or $5 bucks!!!
I know little to nothing about collecting die-cast vehicles. Anybody more knowledgable on this topic out there to give me any tips? I want to stay as cheap as possible.

Hmm, I always wondered how people became Hot Wheels guys. There is no hope now, the cars have taken you.

Honestly-- hit the yardsales and flea markets-- there are always loose cars usually the kinds you are looking for in the .25 boxes.. The best thing is also look at the multipacks in stores -- they usually have a military one or a construction one-- it may be a little more expensive (but may even have some other stuff you can use for your campaign.) _- Even check big lots, or other discount stores- since they usually have a lot of generic cars like that as well.
