Now that I'm home and Google Images is no longer blocked . . . A brief visual history of Marc Scarlotti AKA Whiplash. Original Look: Revamped Look from the 80's (and my favorite) when he called himself Blacklash: _003.jpg) The rather unfortunate late 90's look (and what he looked like when he got killed): Talk about embarrassing!!! Then there were a couple unrelated female versions. The less said about them, the better. All leading up to the new guy, who the toy is based on: Still hoping for that Blacklash someday.

I'm completely digging the modern comic take on Whiplash. I remember Blacklash fondly, but I like this version better.

+1 for classic Blacklash, even though Whiplash makes 10x more sense. Marvel Team-Up FTW!

So did the last 2 waves for this line never appear in stores and I've missed my chance to buy them online for a sane price, just like what happened with the line for the first Iron Man movie?

Not sure what you mean about the last TWO waves. The concept armors have been up at HTS for a long time. I got them months ago. The last comic wave (#36-#39) has been the problem. I haven't given up comletely on seeing Whiplash, Mandy, etc. but I'm nearly there. I'm mentally prepping myself to pay the crazy ebay prices (although BBTS has most of them for semi-reasonable prices). The last wave of the first Iron Man movie was difficult to find, but it did make it to stores. Or at least TRU where I picked most of them up.

Oh well here's hoping we see Blacklash and Whiplash and Mandarin one day in the MU line or the new Iron Man 3 movie line in 4".
Ok so from the picture we have Blacklash, Gimplash and Whiplash.

Finally completed my collection of Iron Man 2 figures today by winning an auction for Mandarin. A few days ago, I finally pulled the trigger through BBTS in order to get Ultimate IM and the new Whiplash. I now have, 16 months after the first figures were released, all of the Iron Man 2 line that I wanted. Sheesh. It certainly took me long enough!

I found the IM2 figures 19, 20, and 21 today at Target (they didn't have 40 Stark Racing Armor). I have never seen them before anywhere. Anybody else finding these?
It gives me hope that somehow the final wave will make it to stores somewhere. I know that Mandarin figure is cool, but it ain't crazy price cool to me.

HTS had the racing armor (#40, I believe) is stock for quite awhile about six months ago. That's where I got mine.

Somebody on Hisstank posting pics of Comic Whiplash and Modern War Machine with ROSS prices tags for 4.99 each. Hopefully these guys start showing up widespread. I was thinking of buying the set from BBTS for $50, but $20 (plus having to scavenge the wretchedness that is Ross) sounds like a better deal.
So this line isn't actually dead. It's just been in a coma.

Awesome, that's the wave that Mandarin is in too.
That would be so hilarious if that entire wave became pegwarmers at the discount stores.

Wouldn't do me any good anyway. Every time the tail-end of some toy line goes to these stores (Transformers, DC Infinite Heroes), I can never find them anyway.

So this line isn't actually dead. It's just been in a coma. I saw some of that wave at a Los Angeles area Ross store over the weekend so they are indeed starting to trickle out.
