This was a shocker to me! I think most of us knew that JazWares had the rights to Street Fighter figures, for a 3-3/4" size, but Mortal Kombat was news to me! I haven't generally been impressed with JazWares in the past, but we'll see what happens. The Street Fighter figures appear based on the most recent Street Fighter IV game, and honestly I haven't been terribly impressed with those character designs. They're too chunky. And I still miss SOTA's fine line. But Mortal Kombat is a lot more realistic-looking, and if JazWares can turn out a capable 3-3/4" line based on these popular characters, I'll readily bring them in. Unfortunately all they had at Toy Fair were package designs fronted with cutouts of the characters that looked to be taken directly from game designer illustrations. Still, there's certainly potential there!

Looking at the pics, it appears that they'll also be doing original SF figures.

The SF sculpts are all changing, and all look great. What was on display was early protos.

I can't for the life of me find the thread about MK figures so I'll post here. The bodies of those figures revealed look nice but the head sculpts kind of suck.

Johnny Cage is my least favorite of the bunch. That design is just so dated looking already.
Sub-Zero and Scorpion are really the stand-outs here (although they usually are in the game as well). I like the way they made Sub-Zero's ice-sword with the textured paint app instead of just a clear blue frosted plastic mold.
I'm not going to decide if I'll buy into the line until I see them hanging on the peg, but this is good enough to keep me excited.
Oh, and since it is such a big topic lately, I like the packaging. Not overly big, not a lot of extraneous material. Not the best ever, but a good step in the right direction in comparison to Mattel's recent offerings.

I've been waiting for a Mortal Kombat line worthy of complementing the SOTA Street Fighter line.
I think it has potential, but I'll have to see them in person.
