James Badge Dale Enlists For World War ZSource: ComingSoonJune 10, 2011 James Badge Dale, best known for starring in the tv miniseries "The Pacific", has joined the cast of Marc Forster's World War Z, Variety reports. Based on the novel by Max Brooks, the film is about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies. Brooks -- the son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft -- wrote a detailed tome in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world 10 years after the crisis to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map. Brad Pitt is already attached to star in the Paramount Pictures film as the U.N. researcher. Badge Dale would play a military officer who is one of the earliest to come up against the threat of the undead. Mireille Enos and Anthony Mackie are both said to be in talks for roles as well with the film is looking to go into production immediately for a summer 2012 release.

yeah, it was really awesome. i kinda wish they'd go with a relatively-unknown-actor cast, at least, if they're going to try to make it a docu-film kinda thing. if not, i guess it doesn't matter.

From IGN: World War Z Cast Takes HeadshotFox, Harris not joining Brad Pitt for zombie hunt.June 30, 2011 While reports had pegged Ed Harris and Lost star Matthew Fox as costarring in Paramount's upcoming zombie opus World War Z, it appears such talk was premature. Like a gunshot to the head of that previous news, Vulture says that neither thespian will make it into the adaptation of Max Brooks' bestselling book after all. "Fox has a scheduling conflict stemming from his prior commitment to star in I, Alex Cross with Tyler Perry at Summit Entertainment; less clear is why the Harris deal didn't make," says the site. World War Z will be fine though. It has Brad Pitt headlining the cast, and is already shooting in Malta.

Im one of those-- looks a little better-- but really just seems like more of the same..
And did they take some of this from Deep Impact--- Morgan Freeman is president again, and I swear some of those scenes were clips of those bunkers they were hiding in that movie as well (at least the outside...) ...

HA, good catch - I saw this on another blog, where they (like me!) obviously were fooled... http://thekibitzers.com/2011/08/22/worl ... unearthed/Quote: While the film is scheduled for release in December of 2012, we know eager fans are dying (and then promptly returning to life) to catch a glimpse of what this epic zombie movie will look like. So as not to incite more hateful rants on YouTube, let me clarify that this is our fan-made trailer for what we think (and hope) World War Z will look like:

World War Z With Brad Pitt Pushed to 2013by ShockTillYouDropMarch 13, 2012 Paramount has reconsidered World War Z's release date. Rather than debut the film on December 21st of this year, it is pushing the adaptation of Max Brooks' novel to June 21, 2013. We're not sure if the studio simply felt it wasn't a "holiday" release or if the film needs more time in post-production, but given the epic nature of the story - and I'm hearing that this thing is huge - it might be the latter. Directed by Marc Forster; Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Julia Levy-Boeken, Bryan Cranston, Danielle Kertesz, Matthew Fox and David Morse star. The film is detailed tale in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a zombie war that obliterated every country on the map.

Damon Lindelof Enlists for World War ZSource: ComingSoonJune 8, 2012 Originally planned for release this December, Marc Forsters's big screen adaptation of Max Brooks' World War Z was, earlier this year, bumped to June 21, 2013 to accommodate extensive reshoots. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Prometheus and "LOST" writer Damon Lindelof has been brought aboard for some rewriting. The film, set to star Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse, revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. The original script was drafted by Matthew Michael Carnahan.
