Why not just wait? They're gonna be everywhere in January. Some of the new stuff (the Ninja series) is already showing up at some TRU's. I'm a bit disappointed in the initial offerings. The Batcave looks awesome, but I really wanted them to expand into the rest of the DC Universe more quickly. I'll probably get the Superman/Wonder Woman vs. Lex Luthor set, but I'm gonna pass on most of the Batman stuff. Been there, done that, have the video game. Now, the Marvel stuff, that's got me pretty excited, because Lego's never had that license before.

So wait... marvel is back with Lego now? I'm confused... behind... under a rock... stuck in the DC Universe section of the toy store; what little of a section it is anyway... does this mean mega Blocks no longer makes Marvel stuff?

Lego has both the DC and Marvel Licenses now. Uh, we've known this since SDCC. DC will start next month (Jan), and the first Marvel sets will tie in to the Avengers movie. We'll probably start to see them on shelves in April.

LEGO would just be printing money... I know mega blocks did this -- but I have no idea how they got the licensing issues.. Since Hasbro fought them tooth and nail-- and stopped Lego from producing those 3 figure only -packs (which Lego got around (and made more money as a result)-- by doing the magnets, keychains, pens, Advent calendars and Battlepacks-- Im pretty sure Marvel will fall under these same issues.. and probably DC as well (since I dont think Lego wants to start something again when they have working business models for the other products.)

Well not entirely true they did have the first spiderman movie license-- as I currently have a Mary Jane, Green Goblin and Spiderman Lego... And their original press release said to expect the intiial Marvel sets in March.. I dont know why they are trying those Bionicle like sets for the DC line-- it bombed bad with Ben 10-- they really should just stick to the minifigure sets...

True, but I try to pretend those sets never existed. They were very underwhelming IMO.
Besides, that was a "Spider-Man movie" license, not a Marvel Universe license. The Batman sets weren't even tied to a particular movie to the best of my knowledge, so at least the Batverse of DC got to be plumbed.

Actually I think it was tied to Batman Begins (thus the Tumbler Set-- and the Movie Deco Batman)-and the kibosh after year 2 of the sets- but I think they knew from Day 1 they would legofy the bad guys...

The "Bionicle" style Batman and Joker are now Live and orderable from toysrus.com.
Damn things aren't even listed on Lego's site yet.
Should make for a nice couple of surprises under the christmas tree for my son.

I went to look for these at TRU yesterday (Friday) but they did not have them... On a hunch though, I decided to go back again today (Saturday) to see if they might have put some out, and to my suprise... they did!!! Truthfully though, I really wish Lego would have had the DC License 10-15 years ago, I have always wanted a lego JLA (ofcourse mainly Superman.) Anyways, I can't wait to pop these suckers open and do some building (building Lego's is always a great stress relief for me and is of course always fun.) I will never get too old to build or play with legos. NEVAH!!! BTW this was at a TRU in Utah. Heads-up though, The Batman/Catwoman set is expensive, (even for Lego and TRU,) it was $17.99 with only 89 pieces. While the Superman/Lex/WW set is $21.99 and has 207 pieces, luckily they still had the Buy one get one 50% off, so I bought those two. They had the bionicle style Batman, Joker, and GL sets. But were sold out or didn't receive the $50 Two-face/Batman set. I really want a GL minifig set now, and hopefully in the sometime soon future we will get a Hawkgirl, Flash, and Martian Manhunter, and... alot of other DCU heroes, oh the cool possibilities, D.

Aquaman had better get some love sooner rather than later. With all those undersea set throughout the years, you'd figure it'd be a done deal. And we better get a damn Hall of Justice.
