I prefer the DCD ones by a wide margin. Then again, that's not surprising.

And Superman, too.

Ryan, you are the flipping man! The detail in the costumes (the lines specifically), and the head sculpts on the DCD figures is phenomenal. The DCUC figures look great also, but (in my opinion) they're a notch below.

The DCD Superman looks Asian

I personally like DCUC better... some DCD look amazing while others just... not so much! I've been sold on the idea of peppering your DCUC collection with various DCD figures like I did with Constantine...

You're right VS. That DCD Supes actually looks like Jim Lee! Sort of.

After seeing those side-by-side images, I think I'm going to skip over the new 52 All-Star figures altogether. I'll just wait until September (or whenever it is) for the DCD ones to come out.

Barry's belt is wrong, his symbol is wrong, the shoulder-layering is non-existant, his head excludes the chin strap and the seam lines are "off" ...

Here's DC Comics' style sheet for the New 52 Flash: http://comicartcommunity.com/gallery/de ... e_id=44593

The DCUC version of Flash is more accurate. I imagine that the DC Direct version was based on earlier concept art and will probably get tweaked before final release.

Emblem - DCUC is correct with it being embossed. Looks like the DC Direct sculptor misinterpreted that effect as the inner circle being off centre.

Belt - DCUC is how Francis Manapul draws it in New 52 Flash, DC Direct is how Jim Lee draws it in New 52 Justice League. Manapul is more consistent with how he draws it.

Shoulder sculpting - This didn't make it to the final design at all, in Justice League or Flash.

Chin strap - Look closer, the DCUC version does have it, it's just harder to see at that angle. It's far too pronounced on the DC Direct version, the DCUC version is more accurate.

DC Direct comes out on top this time. They just look great. I don't think I have the money to get the Mattel versions, but it's a good strategy to fill the pegs with popular names for awhile. I hope they're successful so they can sneak in some team builders and characters that haven't been made yet, even if they are New 52 versions.

I'll prolly just get the main league and pick and choose. My main wish in DCUC is getting more LOSH figures though.

And totally argee with Cyborg getting on the team due to political correctness. This is why we got John Stewart and not Hal Jordan in JLU.

When seen side by side like that the differences are amazing and make the DCUC figures look a little ... cheap ... in comparison.

Superman seems to be a bit closer, but without a better pic we can't tell how much of the "seam line" detailing exists in the costume and boots. Plus his head looks to "old" in comparison with the DCD figure and the way he is represented in the current books ...

I really didn't have a problem with the DCUC figures (and ultimately, I really won't pass final judgement until I can actually hold both figures in my hand and compare them physically myself), but if ever there was an argument for the DCD figures OVER the DCUC ... those pics are it.

I feel the exact opposite way. DCD looks very cheap to me in those comparisons and I for one don't care that the DCUC Flash is missing that dumb chin thing.

I'm still not completely sold we won't see another "flashpoint" in the next 1-1 1/2 years and things end back up somewhat normal. Only 4 months in and Marvel sales back on top.

Anywho, I like the DCUC Flash better. And probably the DCUC Superman, although it's close. Asian Superman gets docked a point by DC Direct.

When drastic changes are made or attempted they always revert back. look at Matrix-style X-Men, they lasted what 2 years at the most? Maybe 3? Spider-Man as the Spider-God?

This lady in red will make it all better again!

Purple technically ...

and she has been identified as Pandora on DC's blog.

But still no other information on her except that she will be the catalyst for the next big crossover event...

Also those are con display sculpts and not final product--- I will definitely have to hold judgement until I see both mass produced (especially when DC direct has lost more limbs on my figures than all my other lines combined)--- not that I will be buying any of them anyway- since really its just more of the same...

What about when we get to issue 7 and they officially reveal the other 7 or so members? We know some of those would have to be subscription only (Element Woman).

Why's that?

They've already said that there will be a few women in the retail line this year - and we already know one of them is Supergirl. They're releasing Element Woman in Action League. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't put her in the retail line.

I'd be shocked if they didn't eventually offer all of the more toyetic members of their flagship book at retail. Those are the characters they want to push.

My comment was in relation to the other poster implying he would "only buy them if they made the entire team". I was trying to express my doubt that the entire team would be made. That some of the team members seem unlikely choices to be retail. Generally unknown females in the DCUC style are very likely to be relegated to the subscription. Can you see Mattel releasing a figure of Mera or Lady Luck at retail? Action League is a different category. Two packs can be sold with one strong character and one less so.

Two points.

We got John instead of Kyle in JLU to broaden the demographic appeal of the show. Hal was not a Green Lantern of the DCU at that time (he was dead or the Spectre). Kyle Rayner was the current Green Lantern. Bruce Timm has been quoted as wanting to use Hal as far back as Superman TAS and being told he had to use Kyle. That is why animated Kyle's origin is so close to comic Hal's origin. There was never a shot of Hal being the Green Lantern in JL/JLU.

IMO, Cyborg is in the new Justice League because Brad Meltzer, former scribe of the JLA, wanted him on the team, and now so does Johns. Why? I'd bet because he was on the SuperFriends TV show. True, he was added to that show for diversity.
