The trailer for the new Joe movie is out. It looks amazing. I started a thread about it in the Screen Scene forum: G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Wow. If those are truly indicative of how the characters look in the movie...this movie is on the right track!
That Cobra Commander looks fantastic!

The Joe sites are all abuzz about these reveals. And rightfully so. These figures are leaps and bounds above the ROC stuff. Although to be fair, there were some gems in that line. Retaliation is just starting off with a bang.

Yet another thread that's due for a name change. These figures look amazing, and I even liked the first movie's toys, so that's really saying something. That Cobra Commander may be the greatest I've ever seen. RoadRock looks like a cool enough representation of the character, though I'm not sure how or if I'd repurpose him outside the movie line. The Cobra Trooper looks close enough to be used with the Renegades Troopers, thank god. I have such a weakness for army builders, and no idea how to use them all. The G.I. Joe Trooper looks like he'll fit in nicely enough among the green shirts from the first movie line. Sort of a mid-way point between grunt and Steel Brigade. And I'm happy to have some...for lack of a better word...more "realistic" Red Ninjas than the 25th Anniversary ones. Since these are pushing a big summer movie, I can only hope their store presence will be bigger than, say, the last SEVEN waves of Joe toys. I really don't want to order these by the case like I did the rest, at least not until there's any indication that Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Duke are worth buying for the umpteenth time.

With simple head swaps, even Duke and the Troopers make for great custom fodder.

That's very true. Once you have the perfect head for a character (Desert Strike Duke, Resolute Flint, etc), every new toy of that character is like buying a change of clothes for him.
...
Oh, god, I've turned G.I. Joe into Barbie.

I'll be doing the same thing I did with the first movie: picking and choosing. I still have to pick up the most recent wave with Sci Fi, Airtight, and the rest.

defzombie wrote: They look awesome! hopefully we can actually see them in stores!! I don't think that'll even be a remote concern. It's a movie line. Stores will be flooded with the first two waves. After that is anybody's guess.
