Similiar to Disney Racers or the Toy Story Line-- What DC Characters would look like if they were cars..

Green Lantern was also pictured on the back..

Haven't seen those yet ...
Where did you find them and what was the price point?

I've seen the new "Nostalgia" line that is replacing the MOTUC cars with DCU cars. I want them, but $5 each at Target has kept me from taking the plunge.

MOTU, then DC, then BIG G cererals, then Hersheys, up next is Hanna Barbera-- supposed to have already hit ..(and a Hong Kong Phooey Car :D ).

I'll grab the Hong Kong Phoey Car as soon as I see it, price point be damned!

The DC stuff is only recently getting put out locally and only at select Targets. Haven't seen them anywhere in TRU, and the local Walmarts are still sitting on the MOTUC cars.

Hopefully, those newer character cars will start making the rounds as well.

I think those MOTU are just fresh stock coming back around again- or warehouse finds-- as I was finding them initially at Wal Marts and Kmarts around June-- I think they release a new series every 2 months or so...

I despise the fact that these 'special' Hot wheels come with a MSRP three or four times that of the normal Hot Wheels car. It's premium pricing for the packaging.

Well, Mattel has to pay WB/DC a licensing fee for these, so I would expect them to be a bit more.

No sign of these at TRU or Walmart in RI this evening.

And body styles that can't be used for "normal" cars that get re-painted and released a hundred times over

I saw these at TRU here in Tucson this morning... The Joker car was cool, but not cool enough for me to pick up. All they had was Supes and Joker, BTW.

Batmobiles and other licensed property cars are normally priced in the mainstream line: Back To The Future Delorean Time Machine, Ghostbusters Ecto-1, and the A-Team van are all about a buck each. I'm not trying to be snide, I'm just a little confused about the situation.

On a side note, it bugs me that some Hot Wheels-scaled Bat-vehicles have not been released in the normal line, such as the Tumbler for example.

The difference is that they're in the mainstream line. If the DC cars had been made as part of that instead of a seperate sub-line they'd be the same price simply because those cases sell in the hundreds of thousands and they can average out the cost of a one-time casting against the ones that can be used a hundred times over. With this sub-line you've got X number of cars in an assortment of other cars that have virtually no potential for other release so there's no way to spread that cost around for a single use mold.

As for the Tumbler, and I can't say for certain because I don't have one handy to examine, but it may be a case of the car being too complicated to cost-out for the mainline, ie: too much assembly to come in under budget.

.

Those are also usually once a year in the line vehicles as well.. This whole line is DC characters represented as Cars-- think of it more along the lines of a CARS/CARS 2 line or that Current ongoing Toy Story line or the Disney Racers line-- if you compare them to those lines they are actually on the cheaper end of the spectrum.

In these situations-- its what if the character was a car-- what would it look like-- so they are selling it more as a "figure" than a diecast car...

I found the nostalgic line at Target for clearance price($1.50 each) so I picked up a whole set. Those new DC cars I seen at TRU but they didn't look as good as the nostalgic cars so they were a pass.

Okay, I get it now. Thanks for the information!

I like these cars, but not as much as my old Corgi DC stuff. That little Supermobile was awesome.
