First off, thanks very much for posting all those Noisy. Not sure if I've ever thanked you, but if I haven't it's long overdue.
And is it just me, or was there a lot more snarkiness / crankiness on both sides of the Q&As than normal this month? Wow...

Noisy saves me so much time with this. I totally appreciate it!
As for the snarkiness. I understand it on Mattel's side. I mean, a ton of the questions are about things we've gotten answers to constantly. The Wind Raider questions... How many times can they possibly answer this? It seems if people don't like the answer, they'll keep asking, trying for a different answer. Asking in different ways, etc. Gets tiresome reading it, nevermind answering them.
Want more vehicles, but the ones they produce.

Yeah, but some of the answers they gave were snarky without being old stuff or answered.
I've honestly thought for a long time that Mattel goes about this the wrong way. I think they ought to consolidate all the questions into one list. Where the questions are duplicated, they say "Asked by user A from site A, user B from site B, etc."
Then they could compile them all into one sheet for each site to post. That way, they don't have to answer the same question a bazillion times lol. Might cut down on the combativeness, and they can use it to show that several sites ask the same thing. They could ALSO see, hey there are 15 different sites asking the same thing. Maybe we ought to take another look at that.

I admit that I don't always read every one of these, but a lot of the site specific "editor's comments" seemed very harsh. I don't mean to be judgmental, because those websites are run by them and they are certainly allowed to write whatever they want, but that's not what I as a reader am interested in. I like the people who host the site to be more professional and impartial than that. That's just my two cents.

The questions are far too watered down now, given how many sites do them twice a month plus the existence of MattyCollector and its forums.
I think they should just eliminate the questions altogether.

I love how almost every site is now including Editor's Commentary on the QnAs.
The fact that they called out Matty for not knowing which answer they gave to (basically) the same question a year ago/few months/ago/today is just so mind-boggling and cool to me (simultaneously)
to be fair: it is also snarky and petty, but I believe the editor also admitted that as well.
This really "hit the nail on the head" for me as to why so many people seem to be more frustrated over the QnAs than not.
Matty just doesn't seem to really give them any serious consideration most of the time. The answers are confusing, sometimes seemingly unrelated to the question, are stock and safe answers, and very rarely seem accurate and honest.
While I wouldn't mind if the QnAs were to just stop, I'd much rather they be done with a sincere effort to have a dialog with us.

I'd rather have them do 10 questions (with answers scattered across MOTUC, DCUC, YJ, and Wrestling, although I don't really care about that last one) each month with straight, honest answers.
Release them to the websites every 15th and call it a day.

I haven't had a chance to run through all the sites yet, so I don't know how many did the Editor's Comments to which you're referring, but to speak to mine specifically... I usually try to limit my ECs to corrections and I admittedly didn't do that last night. I can blame exhaustion or the late hour, but the truth is I just let my annoyance get the better of me. I shouldn't have and have since gone back and toned it down. I did leave the links to the previous Q&A answers though, I think conflicting answers ought to be pointed out. I like the Q&A's - we've got Keldor swords coming, Atrocitus is taller, Starman has his extra head, there's a @#$%ing Battle Armor Faker sitting on my shelf! Those are all things that got negative answers in Q&As at first, but ultimately came to fruition anyway. Some sites try to hold Mattel accountable with their answers, and that seems folly. It's a nice idea that just doesn't work all that well in practice. I like the sites that try to focus on potential, solutions to issues, etc. That said, my answers were problematic: Supergirl is a redeco (Julius posted something about that version of Supergirl getting released in the DCSH line years ago, but I'm 99% certain it wasn't), the answer about the Rookie was an opportunity for Mattel to sell the figure, to talk it up, and they didn't take it, while the Fisto answer was just a letdown, inconsistent with what we'd been told before.

Maybe we ought to take another look at that. Part of the point of the Q&As are to drive traffic to sites to see the answers. It's unfortunate that there seem to be people that will rush to every site and post the same questions (especially since many times the wording is exact). Hasbro used to post the questions and answers to their Star Wars Q&As a month or two later and consolidate the repeats but I don't think that they do that any more. I like how Rebelscum will post each site's questions and link to the sites for the answers. With the way Mattel's Q&A covers all the brands it would be a good way to know if you actually needed to visit a site to read the answers -- unfortunately one of the sites that participates in those Q&As is a podcast and you have to listen to the show to get those answers...

I enjoy other sites' Q+A commentary, but only in terms of clarification or for FYI additions and follow-ups. I don't mind that they do it, but my preference is for what I said above.
I would hate for the Q+As to go away. I can deal with the same questions being asked across multiple sites. I can easily scroll down once I see a duplicate.
I don't have any vested interest in MOTU or the Wind Raider, but I feel very strongly that Mattel is asking waaaay to much for the Wind Raider and other similarly priced items to 'sell out' in less than three days. Three days is a very respectable timeframe for good results if you ask me. I can't shake the feeling that MOTU fans have gotten the short end of the stuck on this issue. Still, there's hope of a re-release, so maybe it'll turn out fine in the end.

If I want an opinion I will come here to the forums. Everything has it's place. I am surprised Mattel continues doing Q & A's with sites that have nothing but snide remarks for answers given. NoisyDvL5 Thank you though for all the time spent posting the Q & A's here for everyone's convenience.
