I have not yet set up my JLU display. When I bought new stuff, I put it in a pile in my semi-finished basement in plastic containers.

I started cleaning up this past weekend, and somehow, I end up with 2 Secret Society 6packs and 2 Legends of the League 6packs (well, 1 loose set anyways).

What the barnacle?! I could see if I bought more than 1 Star Sapphire, or Disco Brainiac, but those 2 6packs? I must be getting old.


On 2nd thought: I'd never buy a another Disco Brainiac. THAT I'd remember.

If they aren't sold by the end of the day I'll be shocked. Unless you just really aren't interested in selling. There are lots of collectors who never found those packs. Congrats on the problem hahahaha...

Yeah. It had to be a regional thing. I remember when they showed up, I bought several of those packs for others. They were all over NW Indiana at the time. Same thing with Wave 5 of DCUC. I saw plenty of those.

But then, in my area, there were other waves that I didn't see as much of.

I'll trade you 8 Supermans and 8 Batmans for them. You'll come out 4 figures ahead from where you are now!

So no one else has ever bought dupes w/o realizing you already had?

Lately I almost did because my figures are all in storage. It's hard to remember exactly what I have.

I've done it, but not with JLU figures. I keep an updated spreadsheet for JLU. That's a nice problem to have, though.

Not 6 packs, but I've picked up a single figure I thought I missed once or twice. I keep track of all my figures in Excel, and I send myself an e-mail to keep on on cell phone of ones I want and don't have yet.

Ive done it for sure, not more than a month ago too. So I, like a few other posters have mentioned, made a spreadsheet. Mines of what I need/want though. Sure I inventoried what I have but I wanted to have a smaller list saved lol Im down to just a few figures now, other than the ever elusive Tracksuit Batman, Orange Shirt-Long Hair Aquaman...Redone Hawkman, Zatanna. That other thread with those pictures is such a tease. Like being in a gentlemans club.

Many, many, many times. Not for my "main" set -- I know exactly who I have and who I don't. But for customizing fodder? Oh, yes.

I've been going through my fodder lately and I was stunned at the number of duplicate 6-packs I had. NOT the rare ones -- the ones that clearanced out at Target, Big Lots, etc. I'd see one for 75% off and snap it up, thinking "well, I can always use more." Same thing with singles and 3-packs. I have a ton of the things I'd gotten at clearance.

I'm trying to put myself on a customizing "plan" so I can start working through all the ideas and notions I've had and start using this stuff.

Way back in the early days of my collecting frenzy when I was buying into just about everything, I was always heading home with dupes I didn't remember already having.

Spent a lot of time in the return lines and eventually started being a bit smarter about what I still "needed".

Now, I just keep a "want list" on my iPhone.

Got one for my son's collections too.

Haven't accidentally bought a dupe in several years now...
