Now I like a lot of their sculpting-- but man either I have the worst luck with this company- or DC direct is really just a shoddy operation...
I was trying to rearrange my figures and its gotten to the point of ridiculousness..

Justice Poision Ivy- moved her leg and the plastic ring joint ripped at the knee
Hush Catwoman-- both her arms literally fell off at the elbows while being displayed.
Hush Scarecrow his hand snapped off at the wrist while turning it.
Balent Catwoman-- her leg just fell off at the knee.
Long Halloween Catwoman- arm fell off at the elbow

And dont get me started on the Looney Tunes line from like 4 years ago-- I think I had every figure have pegs break of on the "interchangeable parts"

Not to mention all the funky sculpt poses form the Hush Line that make standing Huntress and Poision Ivy impossible.or Cheetah from the Justice Line, or Kingdom Hawkman- fell over because he was just too topheavy even on the stands and the head just shattered off etc... And this is just what I found from moving half of my shelves.

Or those peg stands but the figures holes are in some spot on only one foot that still wont keep them upright--

This list just goes on-- I have had more figures just fall apart -than all my other lines combined (and the majority of that is from Super Hero Showdown)-- Every time I see a figure I am tempted to pick it up-- but am afraid I am just throwing my money awa on something thats going to fall apart... I know I trash Mattel alot-- but even with the funky poses I dont think Ive ever had a figure actually break on me...

Sorry you've had such bad luck with your figures.I have'nt had as many problems with mine, knock on wood. It's some of the poses that get me frustrated. For example, Justice Superman and Bizarro, the left leg below the knee is bent out.Makes posing impossible and I have to lean both figures against something.
Batwoman and Cheetah are two others that are impossible to pose without help. The legs are not strong enough to support the upper torso, and who uses the stands that are included when you have 80 or so figures on display next to one another.
DC direct has superior sculpts and paints IMO.I just wish they would get away from artist inspired figures, except for a Gary Frank Superman. That was a missed opportunity.

a LOT of my hush figures broke (nightwing, riddler stick, ras al ghul, gordon struggling, scarecrow, harley, all broke)
a lot of my older dc direct figures were extremely fragile

i will say this

dc direct has stepped up there game

batman inc, batman reborn, arkham asylum wave 1 and 2
arkham city
(i only collect bat so i cant connect on their other lines)
but the past 3 years or so they are really getting aggressive on quality control
still not perfect but they haev made HUGE improvements

I've had a number of them fall from 4 to 6 feet to the rugged floor and or behind the refrigerator and they have always survived. I have roughly 40 to 50 DC Directs and none of them are from the Hush line.

I have probably 80% of the figures they have made since the beginning and I've only had a couple break.

Hush Ra's Aj Ghul - Sword broke from hilt taking it out of the package.
Mr. Freeze - Leg snapped at the hip.
Black Fire - snapped at the elbow during a move
Crisis Lex Luthor - Leg broke falling from the top shelf in an earthquake.

hush gordon tie breaking off
hush scarecrow leg at knee
hush huntress knee pads and belt

secret files mr. freeze backpack and leg at hip

not even sure what line teen titans? ravager, i bought her twice, both times her leg pops out at hip constantly and recently arm at elbow too

dc direct perry white? accessories broke right out of package

birds of prey oracle wheel chair wheel broke off but she fell from great distance

batman reborn azrael/s little clip that holds one of his swords

I don't get a lot of DCD figures, but I have picked up Arisia, Mera and "Alive"man in the past year or so. Arisia and Mera seem to be made more like mass-market figures with PVC limbs instead of resin. "Alive"man seems to have ABS limbs and torso. They all seem to be much better constructed than the old Superman line (the one with Superman, Linda Danvers Supergirl and Bizarro in the first wave) or the Alfred E. Newman hero figures.

Well at least I see I am not the only one with issues in that hush series--

Its a shame-- a major fan Wank series-- and they couldnt support it with a good run of figures.

I'm actually a bit worried about this. I do want to buy some DC Direct figures but scared they might break. I'm crossing my fingers they don't break right out of the package. This should not be an issue people have to go through.

i'd recommend buying loose on ebay
that way you can ask the user to test all joints

i've had very little problems with buying loose

wanted to add dark victory gordon arm broke
and i got a 2nd ravager to break at the leg and elbow

there is tons more i will think of later =)

still love dc direct

i used to really hate the fragileness

oh superman/batman metallo broke in a few spots

they are really stepping up their game, but either way they make great figures, you just have to find the right one =) (most durable)

I have a bad time with DC Direct . I'm loving their figures but they often break or they're too fragile.

So far:

Kryb: hand popped right off gentle play
Crisis Huntress: hand snaps off right out of package
Batman , Inc Damian Wayne Robin: arm breaks off at shoulder with simple movement.
Blackest Knight Blue Lantern Flash: Leg breaks right off.
Secret Files Poison Ivy: Leaves snap off.

I'm sure there's more. I love buying them and mixing them with my DCUC. The sculpts are great lately but they're just too fragile.

I've only had two serious DCUC breaks. Wave 16 Robin (very recently!) and a Shazam.

My teen Titans Robin's Arm broke at the joint.

Green Lantern Uniform Sinestro's Hand broke off.

Ras Al Ghul's Sword Broke.

That's all my DC breakage's. I have 172 OTHER DC direct figures that are just fine and give me no problems what so ever. ( and yes, i just walked over and counted) And out of those breaks, 1 was my fault, 1 was my 2 year old grabbing Ras, and the other was defective product. So in my opinion, i think 1 out of 175 is pretty damn good. But that's me.

i'm still extremely pleased but mine would be like 20 out of 120 (rough guess)

few were my fault so lets say 15 out of 120

out of the newer figures its more like 1 out of 30 ratio which is a lot better

still love 'em and support 'em i understand originally and they still are mostly meant for display, dc direct started at a high price for beautiful display figures with mild poa to display in diff poses
but they are definately getting aggressively more sturdy and i'm loving it
mattel has basically closed the price gap so.......

I love DC Direct. I have every Flash-related action figure they've released thus far and I've only had a few problems with them. But then I only collect Flash-related stuff so I can't speak for anything else but so far...

My first JLA Series 1 Flash's left arm kept popping out of the socket. I loved the figure so much that I had to buy another that didn't have this problem. Luckily I did because soon after the knee snapped on the Flash also.

DC Direct Crime Syndicate Series Johnny Quick's knee snapped off. I found another one fairly cheap a little while later.

Justice Society of America Series 1 Jay Garrick's helmet wings broke off after falling. Also had to replace this one.

Also due to the posing on the Flash Family PVC Barry Allen his leg is starting to warp and he is leaning. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

Most recently my Flashpoint Series 1 Flash's hand snapped off. I'm not super fond of the figure so I decided instead to glue it back on and wait for a really good deal on it.

Other than those I haven't had to replace anything else.
