A JLU figure I can never track down, that's what it is. Especially since one collector has 3 or 4 of them.

As whakojacko1976 showed, "Tracksuit Batman" is a repaint/redeco of batman with black lines running through his suit. Batman was going to be the next in a line of similar redeco's of the main JLU members. They had already released a similar version of Superman and Green Lantern. While Green Lantern was a little more scarce, the Superman generally pegwarmed everywhere.

While Tracksuit Batman was never officially released, they did produce this figure in some decent amounts. Multiple people reported seeing them sold loose in bins at Mattel's company stores back when the JLU figure line was originally "ending" with the final purple carded figures and purple packaged Grodd 6-pack. Besides Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman none of the other characters where shown in this deco style. What makes Tracksuit Batman so rare was the fact that he was never officially released, but some collectors were able to get them if they lived near a Mattel store

He is kinda horrible and bad ass all at once. That's why I was gonna buy him if he was released - he was not.

I think the more important question is, why is that even referred to as "tracksuit" batman.

I've seen plenty of tracksuits (a casual runner here). That is nowhere close to any tracksuits I've seen.

I could see a Batfan being interested; probably no one else though.

As for "tracksuit": agreed - does NOT look like a tracksuit. It DOES look like a TRONsuit though.

I say the Flash would have the final decision on what counts as a superhero track suit and what doesn't.

Just another of the 30 variations of Batman but this one never made it to retail. Not even a part of the line if it isn't released imo and I wouldn't pay $5 for it anyway unless it was to resell to someone who thought it was rare.

We call him "Track Suit" Batman because, a while back, we all decided here at AFI to name him that.

jtd liked both "Racing Stripe" and "Track Suit," and although we in the thread never formally agreed on anything, "Track Suit" is the one that stuck.

And thus the legend was born.

I remembering coming across this code name like a year ago and thinking "Um...what??" But now, I'm totally in-the-know Nice to hear the story again, though.
