"...42" tall, holds 50 figures..."
sure, make me want it even more.
This thing isn't retailing under $100, no way no how. I won't be surprised if it isn't closer to $150.

Hmmm.
Just read an article that claims there'll be a guest appearance on the show from Bob Burden's The Flaming Carrot! It would be awesome if that meant we'd get a new Flaming Carrot figure, too! I've still got my old Antarctic Press figure from back in the day.

I would LOVE a Flaming Carrot figure.
and it is just such an odd visual that kids would probably love it too.

And anytime I hear a "reviewer" say this is just something to buy- never open and just put in the collection-- I really could care less what you think-- since apparently you will buy anything with a logo slapped on it even if you dont want it...

That playset looks really cool.
I've seen some of the action figures on eBay already. One went for $200 a couple of weeks ago. That's crazy money for a toy that's coming out in a few months, unless it was some rare exclusive.

Those were probably (can't say for sure, as I haven't seen the auctions) the promo figures that were given away at Toy Fair last month. Playmates gave out figures of the Turtles in special Toy Fair packaging.

Also it looks like the Toy Fair figures are a little nicer than the finished figures. If we go by what was on display at TF and the give-away (That they were only giving to people that RSVP'ed to their event that was going on the last hour of the Mattel collector press event) the give away ones have a nice paint wash on them that brings out more of the detail and the give-away ones had fully painted weapons, where as the ones shown had solid brown weapons that looked more like the classic turtle figures.
We'll see when we see the final carded product.

OK, I can see a collector paying $200 for a Toy Fair exclusive. Heck, I paid that much for that god-awful DCSH Man-Bat translucent variant. It looks terrible, but the packaging is really cool!

Can't wait to see these in stores, but I'm torn between the new look of the smaller figs and the more articulated larger scale.

I ran into one of the Playmates guys at Wondercon over the weekend and he confirmed that the weapons on the mass market versions will be one color and not painted.

*Sigh* My wallet is already hurting... I'm not one for playsets though, so I'll probably just be getting all four turtles from each line. What excites me is I read that if the classic cartoon line is a success, they may release lines dedicated to other Turtle-verses. I won't hold my breath, but a 1990 live action line would mean I could die happy.
