I couldn't believe there wasn't a Lego Star Wars thread!

Star Wars is the only Lego license I collect and what a line!

A number of neat new sets were just released like the cheap Droid Escape with new Sandtroopers, the updated X-Wing and Y-Wing which seem like clear upgrades over previous sets, the TIE fighter, and others.

The Episode I sets were were also very nice and last year's Millennium Falcon is one of my favorite sets.

Can't forget about the UCS series (an R2 seems to be on slate) too.

So who else has love for Lego Star Wars?

I try to get the stuff Hasbro's never going to make.

So I have the Death Star and Super Star Destroyer, along with several of the Hoth playsets.

That's about it, though.

I've tried to stick to that philosophy as well but I still get suckered into sets if it's well done (like the Falcon) or if I have mini-figure lust (like the Slave 1 set). I do adore the larger playsets but haven't bought any yet. I'll might give in on the Death Star if it sticks around another few months.

I do stick to my guns on one point of principle though: I never pay full price. I'm a patient, selective collector.

In addition to what's on the front page, I just remembered that Lego is also doing a May the 4th promotion at Lego stores and online. Buy $75 worth of Lego Star Wars sets and receive a chrome TC-14 mini fig.

http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/May_the_4th_Promotion_2012

TC-14 looks to have the new detailing with yellow eyes and wires on his belly like the C-3PO that came in the last escape pod set.

Forgot to mention-

Found all the new sets at a local TRU last week (well except Jabbas Throne room)-- had the new EU fighter, the Desert Skiff, the 3 new planet sets, the new Jedi fighter and the 4 or so others I cant recall right now.

I'm loving Jabba's Palace and the new Skiff set with the Boba Fett with printed leg details. I also like that next year's Rancor set can connect to it. I'll wait for my annual pass discount and VIP points next time I'm at the Lego store in Disney to get them but I love the playsets. Much more so than the vehicles.

Palpatine's arrest is also interesting if not a bit lacking. Great mini figures though.

That is awesome. Keep that kid going and he can be a master builder sooner rather than later.

And you should definitely send those pics into the Lego club magazine. That is exactly the ingenuity they like to showcase

do any of you have the GIANT super star destroyer? I have been considering it for a while, and I saw on Amazon last week it was down to $349.00 with free shipping through prime...but them later in the day, they were sold out and only available through sellers for $478. Then I saw it was available through Target.com for $359 with free shipping. I found a coupon for $5 off and if I used my Taget Red card I could get another 5% off...I'm really considering it and just wondered if any of you had any thoughts. It seems to have gotten really good reviews.

They have one built and on display in the front window of the Lego Store here.

It is MASSIVE

Really. Massive. It has to be close to 3 feet in length.

I would love to sit down and put it all together, but I have absolutely nowhere that I could put it once it was done.

I have it. It's a broogle to build. I got about halfway through it and gave up. I'll finish it one of these days.

I didn't enjoy it as much as the Death Star, that's for sure, but I don't regret buying it.

BTW I broke down and bought the TIE Interceptor with Darth Malgus and the Sith Troopers. It was too cool not to get.

And the way Hasbro is getting so stingey with new vehicles, I don't think it'll ever get the 3.75 treatment.

New sets are out (as of Sat. afternoon at my local TRU)

Packaging has changed to sport Yoda in the upper corner with some lovely green energy effects behind him.

didn't pay too much attention to what all was in the boxes aside from the Rancor's Pit set because I don't buy into this line, sorry.

Happy hunting all!
