depending on what that "buy in" price point will be will determine whether or not I'm there for 2013.
What Mattel fails to recognize is that their product is a luxury item. Not a necessity. When anyone is forced to reassess their budget the luxury items are the first to go. Retail is already dangerously close to that mark, the sub may just be taking a huge step past that line for me.
I won't say anything further, or pass any final judgement until we get to the point of sign up and I can see for myself, but the quite does not leave me with a good feeling.

It definitely depends on what he means by "dramatically."
It also depends on if the sub is going to stay like it is (twelve monthly, four quarterly, four oversized) or if it's going to be scaled back.
If the structure of the sub stays the same and the prices go up by $10, it's lights out for MOTUC.

Im thinking sub will be $22-$25 each and day off will be $25-$28
also i read somewhere or maybe i heard it on a podcast, but TG said they are making some changes to the 2013 sub, so I assume we will see maybe less figures or less beasts or something like that

Poor choice of wording and I'm not sure in what universe "dramatically" would be the proper choice to say what he said there. Almost an *insert foot in mouth* type comment.
Even if it is accurate, better words to use.

Even if it is accurate, better words to use. yeah he should have left out the word completely and just left it as a price increase. He has been saying that for a while, no reason to add that word lol

Even if it is accurate, better words to use. My bet is that it's hyperbole so people expect the worst. Which is probably not the best route to travel.

I dunno. I work in sales, where sometimes prices may not come back as quoted. In some circumstances I will go with "Worst Case Scenario" up front, but when I do that there are other options it could come out as.
"Drastic"...ugh, scary word.

I was talking to my head of sales and marketing here at work (he doesnt collect toys), but I told him what TG said about dramatically increasing prices.
He said "Is he crazy?" "You never use words like that"

Why would you intentionally bait already emotionally unstable fanboys into hysteria? That should be somewhere in the PR handbook of things not to do. I'm not going to get riled up about it. If it's priced beyond what I'm comfortable paying, I just won't re-up. When my sub is up this year my collection will be complete. Simple as that.
