OK, so let me preface this by saying that it is a commercial for the King Kong Bundy figure and only the King Kong Bundy figure. It showcases more of the real man in action than it does his action figure.
BUT...
... and this is the part that can be really big news...
...it is airing on all WWE programs and on their YouTube channel.
Yup, the millions and millions of WWE fans worldwide are getting to see commercials to go buy exclusive action figures at Mattycollector.com
We've been asking for them to start advertising. We've been asking for them to find new ways to get the word out to increase traffic. We've been asking for something, anything to promote the site and the collectible offerings.
Looks like they're doing just that.
I guess the old adage is true: "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it".

I don't get what you're complaining about. They made an ad for one of their products, but it's not the product you wanted an ad for? How lame is that?

NO.
I think you got me wrong. I'm actually very happy that they are advertising the site. I don't mind at all that it is for a product that I'm not interested in buying. Traffic to the site is traffic to the site.
But... and here's me being the skeptic... I don't think that Matty will be ready to handle a large influx of new buyers to the site.
They already run with some fairly tight production minimums. They already have issues with customer service that is archaic in comparison to the more "common" etailers (like Amazon for example). They already have issues with many "hardcore" collectors missing out on pieces because they couldn't be there at the right time on the right day.
And now they are opening all that up to "moms and gradnmas" looking to buy a "gift" for their children (in theory)?
I'm very happy to see Matty advertising. I'm very happy that they are going to get massive exposure for the site.
I just don't think they are ready for the turn around.
(and again, I am openly pessimistic about the site. I, and several other collectors here, have long standing issues with Matty, DR, and the competency of how they operate. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt if you like, I won't hold it against you)

Okay, my bad, I got you all wrong.
I'm fairly certain there will not be a crazy influx of buyers to Matty. I know that DR is inept and Matty loves to botch things, but the WWE Legends figures on Matty didn't sell out at all, unlike the MOTU and DCU figures, so they really want/need more buyers.
I think this will be a good thing in the long run, if it has any effect at all.

This isn't new, they did a commercial for Andre the Giant in January & DDP in April. The big difference between WWE & the rest of the Mattel products, is that they have a medium for getting the commercials out, since WWE has full control of 4 hours of TV a week.

I'm sure Bundy will send millions of fans to the site. Poor King Kong Bundy.
