Is Loki different from the Walmart Stand alone Thor Movie line and/or Marvel Select version?
I know Captain America Stand Alone movie version is Darker in costume than the Avengers version. In comparing the Thor figure, The stand alone movie version has the non removable helmet vs the Avengers with a removable helmet.
The Marvel Select Iron Man with removable mask and hands I think is the best. He's bulkier than these other figures.

The Thor Movie Line only had a comic Loki, right? And besides having a non-removable helmet, Avengers Thor is in the updated Avengers costume (I wonder how a head swap between the figures would work? I like the Thor movie costume better, but that helmeted head looks goofy!). Captain America is wearing his WW II uniform in his own line and his new modern Avengers costume in the Avengers line. And I am kind of disappointed that I didn't buy Cap and Thor whan I saw them I need to dig out my Iron Man to display with The Hulk I did buy.

I'm pretty sure it's a custom. A very nice one at that. I still need to find the real one. If I never find it at retail price I'll be disappointed. But I'll just move on to the next thing, and hope it's not heavily scalped as well.

After searching through his pictures... I can see some of his other pictures you can see the brush strokes.
However he did a Freedom Four white repaint of Doom and hung it in a Walmart along with a Modern repaint of Strange... just to take a picture? Some people... are just methodical.

Well, I got suckered in after all I went to Walmart looking for the DKR Gordon Movie Masters figure. I was looking at the Marvel figures and I noticed something somewhat big-looking hidden behind some boxes - turns out it was the Avengers Hulk figure. Aside from the scale complaint I had (which I've since gotten over), another reason I wanted to avoid this line was because I know that a few of the figures are darn-near impossible to find unless you get them off of the pallet. Having the Hulk in-hand, though, helped seal the deal. A friend has since picked up Thor for me, and I snagged Cap today. Three down, three to go.

Finding the Hulk was step one of me getting hooked on these; seeing the movie reeled me in! Now that I have Hawkeye, I'm glad I picked them up (finding DKRises MM Alfred has pulled me in to that line as well, although finding Catwoman will determine whether I keep them all). I would suggest checking out Toys R Us and looking at the Iron Man from the 6-Inch movie line, which has made a reappearance, including formerly hard-to-find figures (for anyone still needing Crimson Dynamo and Initiative War Machine). It is the same Iron Man as the Avengers Iron Man, but without the Battle damage paint apps, in case you prefer regular paint apps.

I agree that if the movie hadn't been so fan-freaking-tastic, I probably wouldn't care for these figures. And I have a feeling finding the DKR Catwoman will be a challenge for a while. If I happen to find two, I'll snag one for you I've seen the 6" Iron Man figures at Toys R Us, and am thinking about getting at least War Machine. My local TRU also has an Iron Man Mark III from the first movie 6" line, and I kind of like the look of that one more than the Mark VI, partly because it's closer to the Mark VII design. Or I may just end up holding out until the inevitable Iron Man 3 toyline and a proper Mark VII figure.

I'm a straight up DC boy myself but the hype and love of the film, I just had to have those characters in the 6" scale and now I find myself acquiring other Marvel figures. A Black Widow here, a Nick Fury over there, Walmart War Machine, just got a movie Titanium Man today.

Oh man, I forgot about Nick Fury. And I figure I'll get the 6" Amazing Spider-Man (and maybe The Lizard) when he comes out. It's going to be bad
