So I recently received the Hasbro '84 Sideswipe reissue from BBTS in packaging identical to those from a few years back. However, the box is dated 2011. As I understand it, Hasbro re-released Sideswipe and Rodimus Prime in U.S. packaging for the Asian market last year?
I'm just curious as to how this worked out. Were these guys the first two on the list and are there any more planned? I think it's a cool idea.

You are correct. There are no other Hasbro releases planned as far as I know. Takara usually does a few reissues a year under their Encore line. I don't think reissues sold very well here so I doubt these, or others, will see shelves here in some time. Even their recent Optimus Prime reissues could often be found on clearance by the end.
Hasbro is bringing the Masterpiece Optimus Prime (Version 2) to the States this year in more cartoon-like colors though. It's a great toy.

Any news on when the Masterpiece Prime 2.0 is getting released? Wasn't it going to be a TRU exclusive in the Fall? Have pics of it been posted online anywhere yet?
