I don't think i've seen a thread on vintage 12" GI Joe from the 60's and 70's in here yet. We need to have one me thinks . This has been the main focus of my collectiing in the last year or so. My love for this line was revived when i came across my Man of Action i got in 1970. Of course i had to find him some buddies, it is the Adventure TEAM, and there is no "I" in team right . AT Land Adventurer AT Air Adventurer Jungle Survival set. I had most of this stuff from when i was a kid. I was missing the belt, machete and compass. I was able to pick the few pieces i was missing at the Great Texas G.I. Joe and Action Figure Expo last year to complete the set. The guys needed a way to travel to and from their adventures. A few more sets that i have been able to complete over the last few months. Emergency Rescue Secret Agent Secret Mission to Spy Island

This one isn't Adventure Team, but i got a pretty good deal on this guy a couple weeks ago. I really like him. It seems i have ventured into the painted head era, and i'm liking it LOL. This guy is an Action Marine in his Dress Parade outfit. The figure is from late '64 or early '65. He's older than me! Got a box too! I'm not sure that this was the box that originally came with this figure though. Still, the box alone is worth almost what i paid for everything. Brochure showing the different sets you could get for him back in the day.

What a great collection, Bill. How tough is it to collect these early Joes? Seems like there is just a ton of stuff but maybe that's because I don't know much about it.

Not real tough to collect Dan but can get expensive. Takes a lot of patience to find the deals. There is a ton of stuff but there are a couple really good reference books out there..... one by DeSimone and the other is by DePriest. I say go for it!

Bought a small collection from a lady who had inherited it from her grandma. This suit was hand made by the grandma. Pretty cool .
