Comic-Con: Iron Man 3 Concept Art Revealed!

by SuperHeroHype

July 03, 2012

With Iron Man 3 heavily into production, Marvel Studios has revealed this really cool piece of concept art! Since we know that the newest flick will be based around Warren Ellis' "Iron Man: Extremis" storyline in some part wherein Tony had the suit bonded to him through the use of nanotechnology, is that what we're seeing here? Is this just a tease at him getting the armor ready or is it malfunctioning? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Fans attending this year's San Diego Comic-Con will be glad to know you'll be able to get this as a poster for free!

Iron Man 3 hits theaters May 3, 2013.

Comic-Con: Marvel Hosts Iron Man 3 Kids' Costume Event

by SuperHeroHype

July 09, 2012

Marvel Studios announced today that they will be hosting an Iron Man 3 Kids' Costume Event on Saturday, July 14, at 12:30 p.m. at the Marvel booth (#2329), at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The event is open to all children ages 2-14 who come dressed as Iron Man. Anyone looking to participate in the costume event should arrive at the Marvel booth by 12:10 to prepare for the event.

A group photo of all the costumed children will be taken on stage and featured on Marvel.com. All participating children will also receive a poster autographed by Robert Downey Jr., who reprises his role of Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Iron Man 3 continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world's favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka "Iron Man." Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, along with franchise staples Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James "Rhodey" Rhodes with Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.

Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige is producing the film from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black with Shane Black directing. Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.

Marvel's Iron Man 3 is slated for release in the U.S. on May 3, 2013.

Just saw the new Iron Man armor for the movie over at marvel.com.

I'm not . . . happy. Too much yellow, not enough red. I hope that's like a stealth armor or something.

On the other hand, at least they varied things up a bit (like with the suitcase armor).

Why do people keep saying yellow? It is a silver and red suit like the silver centurion armor.

that's just awful looking in all honesty. How do they go from the Mark VII to... that? I like the color scheme if it is red and silver it just... doesn't look right.

While undoubtedly you've seen the pictures of the Iron Man armor set up at the Marvel booth this year, they've just added something new to the display that you're going to want to see - a brand new set of armor for Iron Man 3.

Take a look at Iron Man armors past, present, future from the official Avengers' Facebook page and then our exclusive close-up photos! It appears the color scheme of the armor has been swapped with the gold taking up most of the plates and the red filling in the gaps. Iron Man 3 hits theaters May 3, 2013.

Behind the Scenes of Iron Man 3

by SuperHeroHype

July 18, 2012

If the amount of unofficial behind-the-scenes photos for a film equal how good it will be, then Iron Man 3 is going to rule. Now we've got a whole other slew of pictures showing the new movie getting filmed, and some of them are really awesome.

At Star News Online you can see over forty photos of the shoot, and a big thanks to 'Meanz71' for sending us this link!

Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. The third installment hits theaters on May 3, 2013.

Iron Man 3 Stunt Work Caught on Video

by SuperHeroHype

July 24, 2012

Now in production in North Carolina, Shane Black's Iron Man 3 was the subject of more unofficial photography as, today, Oak Island Accommodations caught quite a few photos of an aerial stunt which you can check out by clicking here.

The stuntwork was also caught on video by YouTube user "7wahoos" and you can check out the footage in the player below with a potentially spoiler-filled description right underneath.

Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton and is slated to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.

The characters are said to be parachuting from Air Force One, which has come under attack.

Robert Downey Jr. Sustains Ankle Injury on Iron Man 3 Set

by SuperHeroHype

August 15, 2012

Production on Iron Man 3 was temporarily halted today due to an on-set injury to the film's leading man. Marvel Studios' official statement on the matter reads as follows:

Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.

Thankfully, the injury sounds to be relatively minor and the delay should be minimal. We'll update as soon as production resumes.

Written and directed by Shane Black (and co-written by Drew Pearce), Iron Man 3 also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. It is planned to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
