Well I got in before the most recent price drop- and picked mine up at 49 something-- I think it may be a bootleg- because when I first got it I thought it seemed a little off, it was the arms and the paint job, and the plastic just seemed off- since I havent seen a real one in person I couldnt make the comparison-- however- like everyone else it fits in to my collection and without really close inspection you couldnt tell...

But this problem was only created by mattels inability to even provide the exclusive to the people that were supposed to get the exclusive.

I emailed one of the sellers asking if these were reproductions and he told me that there are from the "lost" case.

I received one today. If this thing is a bootleg, it's pretty much the finest bootleg I've ever seen. The arms do seem to have paint freeze, though, so be careful.

LOL! See what you started, Julius? One question and now we are all coming out of the woodwork as having purchased a Cheep Gleek!

If they were from a "lost" case wouldn't they be sealed in the little baggie?

Can anyone tell me if these "bootleg" versions have number and/or lettering on them to help distinguish?

My Gleek has a stamp on his foot but I don't recall exactly what it says.

I'll look at it again tonight and let you know.

I asked this earlier but got no repsonses. My Gleek has a short code of letters and numbers in white stamped on him. I'd have to check him later tonight for the specifics).

Looking at my Gleek now. The foot stamp is 1319CL.

I'm actually debating on picking one of these up, along with a extra Jan and Jayce. That way I can keep one in package and display the other one.

There was never any breakage on the "real" ones out of Comic Con that I ever heard of. Plus the different, arm articulation, varying paint jobs, coy sellers... the real Gleeks were selling for $100 on ebay. I think someone saw an opening. To me all that = bootleg.

Any chance the Gleeks could be "after hours" product made from the real molds?...

Just ordered mine, and it is now in its way to Spain.

I don't really care if it is bootleg or not, as far as the articulation works and the paintwork is good. For me this is a good opportunity to add a Gleek to my collection.
