CCC. You cannot legally required a purchase to run a promotion in the united states. You MUST have that stated on the promotional item somewhere, and you must have means set up to enter without incurring costs. But they don't have to make it easy for you to do so. Yes, the goal of every promotion is to move more product. That's why it's a promotion, and not a giveaway. What, you think they want to reward you for making a purchase you would have anyway? And yes, you have just as much a chance of winning with your free piece as you do without it. Legally, it has to be structured that way. But no one sends in for the free piece. Just like no one sends in for rebates.

I must be no one.
I always send in my rebates and I've been known to request a free game piece from time to time. I've never won, mind you ...

Here is my ever-expanding collection... http://www.flickr.com/photos/61145178@N08/sets/I've added several more variants in the last few months and need to find the time to photograph then an add them to my Flickr gallery. I'm especially proud of all my ANH Lukes. I actually have two more to add to that set now.

Great, as if I hadn't spent enough on toys this last month, now I want to add to my small (but in very good condition) vintage SW collection. I think the next guy I plan on getting is Yoda. One of my faves, if I can get him cheap enough.

I always liked the simplicity of the original Star Wars figures weapons.

I still have all my original loose Star Wars figures, safely tucked into my collector's cases. I never got into the newer releases, but I never let go of my collection. I've added a few things in recent years when I found them on the cheap -- I got a Rancor in pretty good condition, and I got two Death Star playsets, one of which is in really good shape. Picked up a landspeeder not long ago, too.
I'm not really that into it, but when I come across something that I couldn't afford back then, I just can't resist buying it.

I like the new line in that they filled in what was missing from scenes like Oola and Leia from Jabba's Palace.

Great vintage display!
I got an early valentines day present from my wife this week - a vintage Blue Snaggletooth! To replace the one I had as a kid that was lost to my back yard.
