I'm calling Matty right now. I've never been taxed when ordering from Matty. And yes, the tax is for the post shipping amount, and that is a double no-no.

Yeah according to it we all went back in time and order from Matty 10 minutes before the sale even began.

Easy and any mistakes that were made (I kept forgetting to check the policy agreement box) were mine.

Apparently, our jack-bleep governor here in NJ made some sort of internet sales tax a reality late last year. So...I might be getting taxed on this crap after all. Even on the shipping and handling.

Took about 3 minutes (would have been less if not for the stupid CAPTCHA thing). Once I saw that I could get the Wind Charger for only $4 extra in shipping after Spikor, it became a no brainer. No WSOD at all. And I got the confirmation email. Done and done.

Even on the shipping and handling. Is that what Matty CS said? I still don't get taxed on orders from Amazon. I thought maybe Matty added a distro center in NJ. I was also hit with $2.14 tax on this transaction. Odd. Edit: Also gotta add that it's not just Christie's fault. In realty we are suppose to be paying sales tax on online purchases and every governor before him has been trying to get this enforced.

They keep trying to tax the internet in AZ, but they can't get it to pass the state legislature.
Yet.

Now if I can just get a shipping confirmation already, this will be the best Matty experience ever lol.

I thought maybe Matty added a distro center in NJ. I was also hit with $2.14 tax on this transaction. Odd. Matty said that my lovely state of NJ had requested that Matty collect sales tax. While I was on hold, I looked about online and saw that indeed NJ now wants sales tax levied on internet orders. However, I managed to get the tax removed from the shipping portion, as I am certain that tax only applies towards actual products purchased. Still, it's a major PITA. Now, Matty does not have a DS here in NJ, nor do they have any outlets or warehouses. Basically, they have zero direct brick-and-mortar space here in NJ. As for Amazon, just wait. We're going to be taxed on their orders starting in July 2013. This is, in effect, a move designed to 'negate' Amazon's and other internet-based retail operations so-called unfair advantage of having lower prices. Something that their direct competitors claim to uphold on a daily basis(Walmart)

Got my Mongul and all I can say is... thank God for the color correction!!! Pink Mongul would've been a bitter pill to swallow at $40 dollars. So congrats Mattel!!! Your timely decision earned you an extra purchase from moi. Enjoy my $70 bucks.
