That's so horrible.
I just don't understand people sometimes.
Gah.
My heart goes out to everyone whose family has been scarred by this.

Unbelievable. Horrifying.
I woke up to this news about 45 minutes ago. This is just a few miles from my home. I'm stunned. I've been to that theater. I may know some of the people involved, too...still trying to sort it out. Been on the phone with family and friends since I woke up.
I don't understand the darkness that resides in people to do these kinds of things. This will unfortunately bring all the pain of Columbine right back up, and give our amazing city another horrible legacy. I just don't get it.
I want to cry.

I want to cry. I was wondering about you, glad you're alright. Hopefully no one you knew was involved.

Evil exists. Sometimes it strikes home. Too bad nobody in the theater was packing besides him. Might not have been as bad, and we wouldn't have had to bother with a trial. And as said above, who takes a 6 year old to a midnight show?

They've been saying the guy had a bullet proof vest so a gun may not have slowed him down much. I have a feeling the days of costumes in movie theaters will be over though and that's probably for the best.

You're probably right. I never show the allure of dressing up for a movie, anyway.
A con? Sure. But other than a character T-shirt now and then, I never dressed up for a film.

That was originally all I was going to post but I figured I'd also take the time to explain WHY you are an idiot. Are you stupid enough to believe that in a crowded, darkened movie theater where visibility was limited that if a whole bunch of people just started shooting ramdomly that the outcome would be BETTER? Even police aren't trained for that kind of marksmanship and you think Joe Blow off the street is going to turn into an action hero? Like I said. You're an idiot. Either that or you have seen too many movies and confuse them with real life. Either scenario doesn't speak well for your intelligence.

You are entitled to your opinion.
I'm just happy I live in a state that protects the 2nd amendment. Anything's better than being helpless like sheep to the slaughter. That guy wouldn't have walked out of the theater in Arizona, because somebody with a concealed carry permit would have taken him down or at least wounded him.

Right, because Colorado has SUCH strict gun laws. jingle. And it's not an opinion. It's a fact. Anyone who "took him down" would have taken out some innocent people too. No question. I cannot believe you are defending that comment and trying to politicize this tragedy. And how well did those Arizona gun laws work to stop the assassination attempt of Gabby Giffords? If I recall correctly, several people at that rally were packing heat and NONE of them were able to get out their guns quickly enough to stop Loughtner. You are living in a fantasy world.

'Some men just want to watch the world burn.'
Alfred Pennyworth(Michael Caine), The Dark Knight
Usually, these moron psychopaths kill themselves before police can get to them. This Colorado jooglejam gunman coward will burn, be it in the afterlife or in a jail cell. Both, preferably. Good riddance to such a piece of trash.
My God, I cannot even imagine what the family and friends of the wounded and killed are going through. I hope that some kind of Batman fan internet movement starts up to donate any money or goods to those affected. Count me in if there's going to be an AFi effort.

I didn't take Shellhead serious with his original statement... just figured it was dark humor.... maybe a bit in poor taste right now but nothing that should have been taken seriously...

Let's keep the politics out of this please. This is a horrible event in our community.
Back up, take a deep breath and mourn... not fight.

My heart is so heavy right now. I know none of these people on a personal level, but it affects me as if I did. The nation mourns with you Colorado. Again...
