I've been somewhat bummed out lately by the disappearance of DC Comics product on store shelves lately, but had a fun surprise today when I saw new DC Comics Squinkies at Target. In a brand new store shelf display, there are several new waves of Squinkies shown: DC Comics, New Toy Story and The Simpsons.
There are 10 DC Comics characters shown in what appears to be all pre 52 costumes...most of the characters are the usual suspects but with one surprising addition:
Superman
Power Suit Luthor
Batman
Penguin
Aquaman
Flash
Robin
Catwoman
Hal Jordan Green Lantern
And then there was one raven haired female that I assumed was Wonder Woman, but after if picked the entire display up and inspected it, I was somewhat stunned to discover that it was in fact...ZATANNA!
Also of note...DC Comic POPS have returned with Penguin back in production!

The beauty of this line is that there really isn't any searching necessary to get a set. Wave one is 12 figures on a blister card. Same for wave 2, JLA, and Batman themes. So you really only need to buy each pack once and your collection is complete. much better than those damn Mighty Beanz ...

I saw Wave 1 and 2 at TRU-- but therese no peg space at any of the targets for these-- even though they are in the display case (same with simpsons)

I haven't seen the Batman or JL sets yet, and so far I've only seen the DC sets at TRU.
Hopefully the others will be available soon.

These are pretty cool, I hope the JL and Batman sets come out soon. Apparently these are the 3 secret figures in those sets
JL: Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Cyborg (different sculpt)
Batman: Batmobile, Bane, Penguin (different sculpt)
