Quote: We're coming up on the 25th anniversary of the Mattel Food Fighters line in 2013. Any chance for something to commemorate this classic toy line? Really?! Classic line? Wasn't this line canceled after wave 1?

2) Is the Action League line done or will those last few figures shown make it out?

Quote: Quote: DCClassics.Com Asks: Will Batman & DC Unlimited be released in solid assortments (like DC Classics) or will it feature mixed case assortments (as was discussed for DC All-Stars)? Mixed cases. What does this mean? Can someone help? (I mean... basically, I can tell it's bad news b/c with Mattel, it usually is. But I'm hoping someone can explain in greater detail.)

The asker wanted to know if the new Unlimited cases would be available as solid cases of one figure and Mattel said "no" they're in mixed cases. At least that's how I read it...

It's the same strategy that Marvel Universe follows.
A rolling mix structure - the first shipments of DCU will contain Superman, Hawkman, and the Flash. The second shipments will have Wonder Woman and Injustice Batman added to the mix either in place of Superman, Hawkman, or the Flash or in addition to those three. In other words...
Initial Shipments 3x Superman 3x Flash 2x Hawkman
First Refresh 2x Superman 1x Flash 1x Hawkman 2x Wonder Woman 2x Injustice Batman
Second Refresh 1x Superman 1x Wonder Woman 2x Green Lantern 1x Injustice Batman 2x Aquaman 1x Flash
It's not necessarily bad news, as this is the way that toy lines functioned back in the day, where some of the earliest produced figures were still available and shipping alongside side the newer releases.

The problem comes when 1 figure gets refreshed too heavily blocking future assortments from hitting a particular store. And with only 12 Batman figures and 10 DCU figures FOR THE YEAR I can see a "new" figure popping up on one coast only to be missed on the other until its turn in "refresh rotation" a few months later... At this point, I'm thinking retail won't be worth the bother at all. BBTS may be getting any money I decide to put into these figures. So far that means TDK Bats and Zur-En-Arr Bats. Nothing else shown so far (New 52 and video game) has any interest for me. At least the sub went through this year...

That's gotta be the 2013 mantra for DCUC fans: At least the sub went through.

To see a great example of this, head to any TRU store and look in the WWE section which I guarantee will be flooded with over-shipped John Cenas. Most TRU stores have nothing but John Cenas, even on sale for $7 instead of $12.

And that would be regional disparity in action.
My local TRUs still have a healthy mix of characters and rather frequent restocks.
Everything else (DC, Marvel, SW, Transformers, etc.) on the other hand is the same old nonsense that's been on the pegs since this time last year...

Mark my words DC Universe six inch figures are going to end up like Cars 2. Retailers will get massive amounts of the first assortment and online resellers will be the only ones getting later waves. Cars 2 fell apart this year a VAST majority of it is online exclusive .....

So so glad I stopped when Cars 2 came out. Cars 1 was enough of a pain in the ass, sounds like Cars 2 got a lot worse. And you are right, it's all because they flooded stores with the first wave. They don't seem to learn - bummer.

No Bubastis!? C'mon, if we're going to do this, we should do it right. Can't they retool Cringer? We've confirmed MOTUC parts on DC figures with DKR Bats.
