Without Splinter, the Turtles wouldn't have a purpose in life... They also wouldn't be ninjas out for blood. So of course Playmates has brought us a new Splinter to go along with the new Nick Turtles. He's probably one of the most controversial redesigns (behind April) and he's one of the weaker figures in the entire line. Still I've got the full breakdown over at the usual. I saw these for $7.77 at my Walmart and I took the plunge with my favorite two Turtles (Don and Leo). I was pleasantly surprised at how good the articulation is on the Turtles.
I'm planning on going back and getting the other two for sure.
How's the Foot Soldier articulation? I bought one but I haven't opened it yet. I'm bummed Shredder doesn't have knees, so I don't know if I'm going to get him or not.
These are the first Turtles I've bought in ten years. They just might have something here IF they make more figures as good as the Turtles. Otherwise, I'll be getting the quartet and calling it a day.

I was on the fence about these but thanks to the reviews and photos you all posted I feel compelled to get at least the four turtles. I feel that with the new Nick Turtles that Playmates hit a sweet spot with sculpt, detail, articulation and playability and even collectability. An all around fun toyline for kids and collectors. And the price is right.

I was planning on massively army building the Foot ninjas, but once I discovered their wonky articulation (esp. no knee/ankles) that put a damper on things. I'll keep the handful I've got, but that's it. Please tell me Shredder is better than the Foot guys are. Still on the fence with Splinter while April and Krang will be a pass. My TMNT worldview is much less SCI FI and much more Ninja/Martial Arts. When does the show actually start?

Okay, I'm done with wave one. Got everybody except April and Krang. Ending up with five Foot ninja, might make it an even six as long as I can find them at Walmart's pretty reasonable price. On the fence about the sewer playset. It looks cool, but where would I put it? When's Wave Two? I want a Casey Jones.

It has Bebop and Rocksteady's replacements (can't remember their names), Metalhead (who looks great) and I think someone else as well that is escaping me at the moment. Needless to say I'm only really excited for Metalhead.

Saw the premiere today. Not bad. A bit too kiddie in parts, but the fight coreography was sold (HATE the way they CGI the spinning staff and numchucks, though). I really liked how the robot suits and Krang speech were portrayed. This new, younger Mikey is even MORE annoying than the older version, sadly. I almost want to mute the TV when he talks. I really like Splinter's rendering. It's much more regal, somehow. Now, bring on the Foot clan!
