Yes, yes...we've had these topics before, and it's fun to go back and see what you collected at the time. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19211viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2041&start=60But I'm curious to see what lines you still collect, new ones you started collecting, and lines you stopped collecting, and why. Especially considering how many lines have recently ended, or seem to be dying out, or have been so frustrating to collect due to cost and distribution that you've dropped the line(s). Include vintage, foreign, modern - action figures, collectibles, and everything else. Statues, cards, vinyl, etc. Post away!

I'm still a Whovian even though I don't rush out to get the new releases I still get them and I will army build on occasion.
I'm heavy into DCUC/ DC Movie Masters stuff
as well as picking up the Marvel Legends bug as of late!
I also have been very big into playsets/ dioramas for 5", 6" and up figures

Now that Mattel is on a DC hiatus I'm really not collecting much of anything.
I have the DC sub (rants on that "service" aside), and would LOVE to buy more Action League (but, again, Matty doesn't seem to know what it is doing on that front anymore either).
I am buying DC Hero World and Imaginext sets from Fisher Price.
Eagerly looking forward to Battle Beast Mini Mates and Takara's Beast Saga to get released.
Biggest part of the collection these days is Skylanders (only need Wham-Shell before Giants gets released) and Lego (now that there is a store locally and I can pick up some of the more HTF sets a bit easier).
Its been a slow and inexpensive year so far, and I'm kinda liking the trend although I would LOVE to be buying more DC figures on a more regular basis...

I buy Skylanders for my nephews and Wham-Shell is the last character they need also. I have 1 on the way for them. Have you gotten the new WM clear red Drill Sgt. exclusive yet?

Maintaining:
DCUC Sub Marvel Legends Marvel Universe
Cut Back:
Star Wars (just isn't much out there these days, especially on the vehicle/new character front) GI JOE (we're in movie mode once again, and most of those figures suck) Transformers (on hiatus until the Classics come back, although Bruticus is tempting) Mini-mates (see Star Wars)
Dropped:
Thundercats (the 8 inch line seemed over before it even began)
NEW:
SHS Monsters (they're expensive so I'm picking and choosing)

Seriously? Nothing. There's just nothing coming out. If Marvel Universe gets around to releasing anything, I'll pick up anything interesting out of it, but otherwise, zero.

Collect: Nothing
There is no series I want everything from, and never has been. The only ones were Marvel Legends Series 2 and 4. I got all 4 from both, just because I liked them all.
Pick and Choose:
Marvel Legends DC Signature Series S. H. Figuarts Revoltech Figma Masterpiece Transformers 3rd party Transformers
Much the same as always, really, except now Marvel Legends is back, so that's cool. Lots of re-use is keeping me away from a lot of them but the new sculpts are nice.
The nice thing about buying maybe 6 or 7 toys a year, is that those toys are expensive, so 6 or 7 is just fine on the budget.

I'm only collecting Marvel Select figures this year. I thought I was gonna start up with the Return of Marvel Legends but they were too scarce here. And with gas prices being what they are I don't really care for 'the hunt'. The Transformers Prime line looked good but I passed on them too though I do pick up the occasional TF from Ross or TJMax or Marshall's. I dropped Thundercats 6'', StarWars and GI Joe because they just don't do it for me these days. Never got into DCUC which I guess is fine now that I don't ever see them except for ten Magog's on clearance at Target. So it's Marvel Select for me these days. Which works out just fine because I'm trying to streamline my lifestyle. But I have to admit collecting is still an addiction for me. I'm a functional addict.

Here's my list. Which has gone down drastically from last year. As much as I love the Futurama and Arkham City lines I can't seem to either find them or when I do I can't afford them given the secondary mark up. So I'm down to the following and may go back to collecting Minimates at this point. At least I can find them in stores and they aren't going to break my bank.
Gears of War DC Sub

I collect books.
Not physical books, but books that I've read.
Once I read a book, I consider it added to "the collection".
The best thing about this collection is that it is free, I never run out of space for it, and it doesn't clutter up my house. To add to my collection I simply check out books from the library, read them, and return them.

Hasbro Star Wars: Sporadic these days. Sticking to main characters or vintage "upgrades." Staying away from most. Hot Toys exception: I will buy anything Hot Toys makes in the Star Wars brand. Superheroes: Buy nothing of Hasbro's. Got suckered into the Dark Knight Rises movie masters with the bat signal. Will buy one or so DCUC figures a year if it's something that moves me. Hot Toys exception: I buy a lot of their superhero movie stuff. Almost everything Dark Knight related, maybe a quarter of the Marvel stuff. Transformers: Almost nothing these days. Sticking to Japanese masterpiece toys this year for the most part. Will splurge for G1 reissues or originals when PayPal funds allow. Hot Toys exception: Hot Toys doesn't produce anything from Transformers, thank goodness. Nostalgia: I'll include my Mattel Voltron sub here, the KITT preorder, MOTU classics (which I'm practically done with) or anything else I get for purely 80's toy nostalgia reasons, including originals. Not a lot this year. Do have the miracle productions vehicle Voltron coming. Haven't bought a random vintage item this year. Hot Toys exception: I did get the Keaton Batman stuff. Moral of the story? Hot Toys has me by the ______. But I'm buying less than ever.

This year... My main collections have always been Batman, Batman with the DCU related stuff. But even with the new TDKR and Power Attack stuff, there is just nothing I have to have.
Because of that I have noticed that I really have no collection direction anymore. And what I do get is random stuff from the clearance aisles and closeout stores. Blue Devil and Manhunter from hastings. DCUC Golden Pharoah from Tuesday Morning. Agent K from target. Just alot of random stuff.
I have picked up some wrestlers this summer though. Started back up my figure fed for summer.

Time for an update! Collecting a little more than before, but in general Hasbro and Mattel just aren't putting out a lot.
