I just hope these catch on with the public so we actually get the stuff they have planned. It's a much different retail landscape then when the Toy Biz stuff was in stores. I hope the movie and toyline are both big hits!

I hope this line hits big. I'll take as much Middle Earth in 3.75 scale as I can get.

I just hope they make Smaug at some point, apart from that I might get a Gandalf or something.

Am I the only nerd that pre-ordered these from Amazon on Sept 1st. Saw them in person at SDCC and they are really nicely done.

Saw these at TRU yesterday. Some of them look pretty good. Others . . . not so much. The scale seems off to me. My understanding from the books is that Goblins and Dwarves were compariable in size (i.e. they were both about the same size). Orcs were bigger (human size), but the Hobbit doesn't have any orcs in it, just goblins. The goblins in the toy line are MUCH bigger than the dwarves when they should be about the same size. I'll probably pick up a couple figures and pretend they are Asgardians for use in my MU collection. The wolf rider is bad ass. The Goblin King, however, just looks dumb. Lego is going to get the bulk of my Hobbit merchandise money, but I'll be picking and choosing some of the bad guys.

Just let me know when Smaug gets released.
Other than that, I'm probably sitting this one out.

The scale seems pretty good. The more I play with them the better they get. Found this guy last night.

These sculpts on these are pretty good... I just wish the paint was better. Specifically the flesh tones. It's better on the 3.75" than the 6".
I picked up 3 of the 6" figures while out at lunch today.

Where did you find them? Been looking all over for the 6" ones.

I've only seen these at a single TRU currently.

I found a full set of 6" at the TRU in Culver City.

I'm surprised there haven't been any announcements as to what the next wave will be. It would have been nice to get new figures in December/January.

Has anybody seen these anywhere except TRU?
Are they coming to other retailers?
I keep waiting on buying the Wolf Rider because I'm hoping WM or Target will have them cheaper. I like TRU, but man, they tend to jack the price quite a bit lately (especially on Legos).

They always have the high end of retail. The prices they charge are the same prices which Diamond charges for stuff. I've never really figured out why someone would just charge the highest suggested retail price unless their wholesale discount was being factored from that price like when you order from Diamond but meh... TRU has always been high so was KB till they died.
