Someone at Mattel must love Batgirl:3 Along with the first lady of the DC universe, Wonder Woman, Batgirl has received 3 alternate versions of a figure. Wonder Woman was released in her iconic stars and stripes, along as a Star Sapphire. She's getting a new 52 figure as well. Batgirl has both versions of her standard costume, as well as a new 52 figure also. I know that Batgirl is very popular, but compared to Wonder Woman, she's a small fry. I love Batgirl and I am certainly not complaining but I just noticed this and thought it should be mentioned:3

Batgirl is extremely popular and is actually DC's best-selling female above Wonder Woman and Batwoman right now, comics-wise.

But I see how it is kinda funny considering how long she's been out of the role until recently.

There have been three different versions of Supergirl released (and we almost got a fourth in the now-altered All-Stars line), as well. Actually, Wonder Woman would have four if you count Artemis.

Batgirl is hardly a small fry in the DCU, at least in terms of recognizability.

If you asked someone to name some women from DC, assuming they know what DC is, the first names they mention would be Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Lois Lane.

And for what it's worth, you forgot to mention Catwoman in your original post. She's had three figures, too - black, purple, and classic.

If you were to count the Arkham Asylum versions, you've got two more.

Actually, there have been three versions of Babs as Batgirl (blue/grey, blue/black and NU52) and one of Cassandra Cain so that makes four versions of her so far.

I know we've seen that we are getting a Huntress, but she is another character that could be released a few times in her different looks. And Catwoman still has a few classic costumes to be made in. I don't mind having more than one version of a character if they show them from different decades.

Thanks for all this insight. Whenever I ask someone to name to most popular females of The DCU, they normally say Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley, that's it. But to see that these all pretty much have the same amount of re-releases, makes me happy. It was just something I thought I should point out!
