They made it because people always ask for Red Hood. I can't tell you how many Q&A's have questions on him.

Red Hood seems to have been a big let down for many people, but I think there is a bit of a silver lining with this figure. It is definitely true that more people have been clamoring for the modern Jason Todd Red Hood, this particular Red Hood figure may actually provide us with TWO Red Hood figures at the same time. The mask/hood from this version could be removed via the boil and pop method and put on the Tuxedo Joker body from the TRU 2-Pack to create the Joker Red Hood. The only problem is that Joker's Red Hood cape is red, not black. If we petition Mattel, they might include a second identical cape in red. A longshot, I know, but it is at least worth asking. The modern Jason Todd Red Hood is pretty popular and is still a likely candidate for retail release. However, this version of Red Hood and the original Joker Red Hood likely only have DCIE as their chance of being made. If Mattel simply includes a red cape with this figure, they may find themselves in a similar situation as MOTUC Snake-Man-At-Arms from last year (MOTUC fans hated the figure when it was initially revealed, but they changed the parts to Roboto parts and suddenly it became a popular figure to create the 200X version of the character). As it stands right now, this Red Hood is the equivalent of Snake Man-At-Arms, largely unpopular with the fans. The MOTUC fans made their opinions known and the figure was changed to make it more appealing. DCIE fans could do the same thing to get Matty to make Red Hood more appealing by including a second Red Hood dome with a red cape attached or just a separate red cape. That one little change may get people to buy this figure when most seem intent on dumping it. Just a thought.

I'm not all that enthusiastic about Red Hood, but I'll take him over any New 52 stuff. And thank you, Batwasp, for posting that release schedule!

I think it goes without saying that no company is going to please everyone all of the time, but why do I get the feeling that Matty gets pleasure out of it? I could give two buffalo chips about any interpretation of Red Hood, but especially this one. Is this not supposed to be the figures they couldn't sell to retailers or what fans were clamoring for? I can see why they had a hard selling this one and I think I missed the memo on fan's wanting this. Like I said, I'm usually pretty optimistic about collecting, but Matty needs to get their together. It is no wonder the sub didn't get as high as they had hope if this is the ideas they are going with.

For all we know this is another Rocket Red issue where Mattel picked a name and DC overrode the look. It seems likely to me considering the relatively little screen time this figure has had.
It's a shame the cape isn't red on this version, it'd be great to be able to pop it and the helmet off and put them on Tuxedo Joker.
That said, this looks like a sharp figure on display I'll bet. I'll take it.

I wanted Red Hood, but not this version. Hopefully the red hood/dome part isn't removeable, as I surely don't want to see a red-haired version of Jason Todd under there. Disappointed for sure. Perhaps we'll get another Red Hood in Batman Unlimited, which really, this figure should have been in IMO. Oh well.

Red Hood joins Constantine in the "gonna get rid of" portion of the sub.
I wouldn't have minded the modern take of him (Jason Todd with jeans, etc.), but I don't want this one or the classic.
Huntress and CM3 are welcome additons, however.

To each his own, I suppose. I wanted leather jacket one.

Sorry to be a downer...
But Yay!... Another con/fair with no news I had any interest in. I don't collect 6in stuff. The only thing that sounded good was the Power Attack Batman 3.75in line. But no one has any pics of that. Was hoping for some preview of the Beware the Batman line. But guess not.
